There are hundreds of Austin tech jobs on our job board. They range from the tech specific, like development and design, to transferable trades like finance, marketing and even legal counsel.

That’s a lot to look through if you’re in the market — or even just browsing. Here are six companies in Austin whose perks and culture are worth a closer look.

This company helps marketers personalize web content and messaging to get customers to the checkout screen, based on his or her “digital body language” and position in the sales funnel.

Location: 3000 East Cesar Chavez St.

Perks: "We have a kickball team, breakfast club, beer club, culture club, board game night and more. We order pizzas, eat tacos, power through the Tiff’s Treats and hit the happy hours."

Dan Gilkison, VP of Operations, said the company’s perks aren’t the best part of working at Get Smart Content.

“Most places do similar things,” he said. “But what we really do best is honesty, sincerity and loyalty… We win as a company because we have each other’s backs — Engineering builds it, Marketing spreads the word about it, Sales pushes it, Customer Success supports it, and Operations works across the business to connect it. Together we work, and it’s wonderful.”

What they’re looking for: “Skill fit without a culture fit is a misfit,” Gilkison added. “We believe in hiring and supporting people who fit our culture. When we make a new hire we believe that person is honest, humble, hungry, happy, accountable and smart. When we stick to that approach our strong team gets even stronger. And that’s a perfect fit.”

In the 30 years since its founding, the Eureka Software team has learned a lot about how to make software right. They’ve worked with and for members of the Global 1000, the Fortune 500, notable private companies and numerous start-ups.

Candice Talley said Eureka puts those principles into practice.

“Today, more than ever, delivering great software requires going far beyond programming,” she said. “It takes a strong blend of technical artistry, high-end engineering and deliberate execution – that’s how we approach every project we take on.”

Location: 3305 Northland Dr.

Perks: Comprehensive benefits including health & dental, competitive paid time off program, Low project fatigue and burnout, keep up with latest technologies, and more.

What they’re looking for: “No one is expected to know everything, but we do expect you to never stop learning,” Talley said. “We also don’t handhold, coddle, or even micromanage. We have performance-based freedom, and it’s not abused because it’s based on getting your work done well.”

Since its launch in 2001, LegalZoom has helped over three million users manage their legal needs, including families and small businesses. Lisa Fernandez, Director of Talent Management, said the company’s success is largely attributable to the enthusiasm of its employees.

“Zoomers are sharp-minded, driven individuals who embrace the LegalZoom mission of democratizing law. They thrive in a fun yet challenging work environment that offers an opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives,” she said.

Whether it’s finding new ways to disrupt the legal industry’s status quo, volunteering their time for local causes, or creatively celebrating holidays throughout the year, Zoomers rise to every challenge while having fun along the way.

Location: 9900 Spectrum Dr.

Perks: Community service PTO, birthday holidays and a gym and subsidized café on a welcoming and energetic campus featuring employee concerts, charity ping pong tournaments, Nerf gun wars and food truck visits.

What they’re looking for: In the midst of all the fun, Zoomers never lose sight of their common mission. It’s what propels them to do great things, in and out of the office.

Location: 421 East 6th St.

Perks: Weekly Catered Lunches, Weekly Company Happy Hours and other company sponsored social events.

What they’re looking for: Character. “Members of our team are unique, silly and add their own energy to their position and the team,” said CEO Brad Weimert. “Part of what makes this company great is that we hire people who thrive on growth and learning new things.”

“High level eCommerce and the payments space in general is changing rapidly,” Weimert added. “Part of our mission is to make sure we’re having fun in that space. There’s never a dull moment here.”

RetailMeNot has been changing the way we shop online and in stores since early in the last decade by partnering with national retailers to facilitate sales.

Talent Acquisition Director Lizette Fleher said the company is committed to continuous innovation, which means finding the best and the brightest to solve tough challenges.

Employees have the ability to work with company leaders and industry pioneers to make an impact on the industry.

Location: 301 Congress Avenue

Perks: Aside from some really cool perks like a barista and a tailgate full of beer, RetailMeNot offers employees at all levels and functions to make an impact, challenge the status quo and act like an entrepreneur.

What they’re looking for: At RetailMeNot, they look for five qualities in a candidate: 1. value-driven 2. innovative 3. analytical 4. transparent 5. tenacious

It also helps to have a passion for retail, technology and best-in-class consumer experiences.

“We value employees who have fresh ideas, who are creative and who can build consensus to carry out a vision,” Fleher said. “We don’t take ourselves too seriously, so having a sense of humor is a trait that’s always appreciated as well.”

Dropbox is one of those cloud collaboration tools that’s hard to put down once you pick it up. It was founded by MIT students nearly a decade ago with seed funding from Y Combinator, making it not only one of the simplest and stickiest file sharing services on the market, but also one of the most stable.

The San Fransisco-based company has a team in Austin that’s small, but nimble — and they’re tackling huge challenges.

Location: 501 Congress Ave.

Perks: The flexibility of a startup crossed with the benefits of an established, global company. That means three free meals per day; a weekly, live Q&A with the co-founders; volunteer time off; company-wide hack weeks and the satisfaction of impacting how work gets done at companies like Under Armour, News Corp, and National Geographic.

Openings: Enterprise Sales, Channel Partnerships and Customer Experience teams.

What they’re looking for: Talented individuals with software sales experience who want to help companies simplify the way people work together.
