founder Joshua Baer (pictured left, above) announced the six startups joining its accelerator this month. Scroll on for a closer look at the tech and teams behind the brands.

 

1. Workify

Tagline: ZenDesk for management and employees

What they really do: Mobile HR apps that help companies build and measure employee engagement.

Founders: Ernst & Young and Goldman Sachs alumnus Stephen Huerta and Dustin Wells, current CEO of HeadSpring and past president of EO Austin

 

2. Sky Lab e2e Automation

Tagline: Economical IoT solutions to remotely monitor assets of SMB oil & gas producers.

What they really do: Hardware and software for oil and gas production companies that monitors storage tank levels, pipeline flow and pump jack operation. The software has intuitive alert notifications, production reports and basic expense management to supply business intelligence.

Founders: IBM and AMD alumnus Jim Brotherton and Sean Rogers (Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Ranger)

3. Altr

Tagline: A smart device that helps you quit smoking, weaning you off nicotine gradually.

What they really do: IoT + vaping thingy = automated 12-step program

Founders: Cinematographer and polyglot Caleb Smith and GluTact founder Matthew Poplawski

 

 

4. Edbacker

Tagline: PTA made easy.

What they really do: Software for online fundraising, membership management and messaging.

Founder: Former teacher and assistant principal Gary Hensley

 

5. MYad

Tagline: Yelp for Influencers / What Would Your Ad Be?

What they really do: A marketplace for advertisers to use the data they have about consumers to find the perfect influencer to create and distribute content on a brand's behalf.

Founder: Morgan Stanley and WatchDox alumnus Mike Sorgenfrei

 

6. Longshot Games

Tagline: The only college football game available on Facebook & iPad

What they really do: Their Bobblehead College Football game allows players to build and customize their own college campus, recruit bobblehead characters and square off in football games against other users. Bobblehead College Football is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. It was first launched on Facebook, with an iPad version due soon.

Founders: Electronic Arts alumni Josh Brown and David Sassen and Acclaim Studios vet and Cloud 9 Games President and CEO Curtis Ratica.
