The first five months of 2016 has brought over $355 million in funding to the city, with investors backing a number of Austin-based startups in the form of financing rounds. As a fresh influx of funding allows a company to pursue new projects, test new markets and hire more employees, it can be exciting to join a company on the coattails of a funding round. Here are some of the top companies hiring right now that have received funding this year:
Why it’s cool: At Vyze, they celebrate the diversity of their team and empower employees and everyone they work with in the process. They also celebrate successes with their in-house kegerator. They received a $13 million Series B round this month.
What they're hiring for: Sales Executive, Customer Success Manager, Vice President of Product Management
Who they want: People with high energy, a positive, “can do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork and attention to detail, and a high degree of integrity and initiative.
Why it’s cool: Findhelp is building the country’s most comprehensive online directory of social service organizations. What's cooler than helping people find the help they need to better their lives? They received a $5 million Series B round led by Techstars.
What they're hiring for: Software Account Executive
Who they want: A fearless entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a rapidly changing environment and a friendly and outgoing personality.
Why it’s cool: You get the opportunity to join a company re-inventing the vacation rental service industry. They also promise a competitive salary, stock options, health insurance, and a flexible PTO plan. They received $10 million in March.
What they're hiring for: Almost everything! Marketing, Ops, Design, Product, Sales, Project Management, Finance
Who they want: Collaborative self-starters. Bonus points for startup or travel industry experience.
Why it’s cool: Vast is a big-data-as-service platform that provides consumer experiences—powered by data and analytics—for big purchases in automotive and real estate. Their strategy is to hire the best people and give them the freedom and support to tackle big problems. They promise it's challenging, collaborative, and never boring. They raised $14 million in February.
What they're hiring for: An Infrastructure Engineer
Who they want: Someone with a passion for working with cutting edge technology and learning. A can-do attitude and excellent communication and critical thinking skills are also essential.
Why it’s cool: SparkCognition powers predictive and cognitive capabilities that can deliver millions of dollars in cost savings, operational efficiency improvements and security to operators. They raised a $6 million Series B.
What they're hiring for: Data Scientist, Product Management, Sales Engineer, Account Executive
Who they want: SparkCognition loves people who are collaborative self-starters that dream of working in a fast-paced environment of a growth stage startup.
