There's no need to wait for the start of the new year to make a career pivot. These Austin tech companies are hiring big, and they are looking for people like you, right now.

What they do: Volusion creates products that make people and their businesses more successful. Since 1999, the team has developed SaaS commerce solutions and services for all business types, ranging from startups to large enterprises.

Why you want to work here: Because of perks like bring your dog to work day and unlimited PTO, among many more. If you're the kind of person that loves working in teams and has a passion for driving positive change, then they want to hear from you.

A note from the boss: "We hire folks who embody our culture code," said VP of People and Culture Sandra Nguyen. "Our ideal candidates are humble, effective, adaptable and transparent. We're looking for people with a founder mentality: you think big, go fast and solve for the customer."

What they do: The mobile app created by the Aceable team has helped over 300,000 students graduate from online drivers ed and defensive driving. Former teachers, NASA engineers, and those passionate about education have all helped in building their mobile education platform focused on affordable, engaging and convenient content. The company is now expanding into other verticals for required professional education.

Why you want to work here: As Aceable expands into new states, their team continues to grow. Being a part of the team means taking advantage of a fully stocked kitchen, a team meal every week, a monthly transportation stipend, a downtown office with great views and generous PTO.

A note from the boss: "Before their first day, every new member of Team Aceable is required to write an essay about a time in their life when they demonstrated a lot of grit," said CEO and founder Blake Garrett. “Our goal is to transform government-required education spaces into straightforward, enjoyable experiences that empower our students to achieve their life goals, which is no small task, and we've learned that mission requires people with a lot of grit.”

What they do: In over 15 years, LegalZoom has provided legal assistance for 3.6 million people. They've created 10 web-based solutions to drive a new way of getting legal help, launched an independent network of attorneys for personalized support, and developed a legitimate law firm in the U.K. earlier this year.

Why you want to work here: The strength and success of the company is a reflection of the people who work at LegalZoom. The team believes in and is excited about what they are doing in providing services that help people. The company focuses on not just creating great workers but great individuals.

A note from recruiting: “We’re looking for candidates who thrive in a fun yet challenging environment and who are eager to collaborate with others to disrupt the legal industry’s status quo,” says Lisa Fernandez, director of talent management. “Zoomers are driven by our mission of democratizing law and are eager to make a difference in people’s lives. With unique perks such as community service PTO, an on-site gym, a subsidized café, and birthday holidays, LegalZoom makes it easy to maintain a healthy, purpose-driven work-life balance.”.

What they do: Accruent develops commercial property management software products and facility management solutions. Their solutions support more than 5,400 leading organizations worldwide in more than 120 countries.

Why you want to work here: Accruent is a values-driven company accepting of new challenges and providing learning and development opportunities for its employees. The new Austin HQ is at the Domain, next door to the Rock Rose area which features restaurants, cafes and bars. Team members enjoy perks like unlimited PTO, a wellness program, and social events throughout the year, as well as participating in volunteer events through AccruentCares.

A note from recruiting: “At Accruent, we look for candidates who align with our core values and have the potential to do great things,” says Lindsey Bogard, recruiting manager. “Sometimes prior experience is important, but what always comes first is finding smart people who are driven, humble and focused on winning as a team. If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply today.”

What they do: Development firm Robots and Pencils builds apps for the long run. To avoid users dropping off after a bad go around with an app, the Robots and Pencils team offers speed and performance tests, UX sticky tests to ensure engagement and ROI, and a proprietary algorithm to boost five-star app ratings. Some of their clients include Nike, Clorox, Slack and UTX.

Why you want to work here: The team has a 100-year business plan and requests that each team member commits to 10-years of work to create great things together as the company grows.

A note from the boss: "As for hiring, people are our most important assets. I don't think about having staff; I think about having talent," said Michael Sikorsky, CEO and co-founder. "I call it FTT: Follow the Talent. We find pockets of talented people and that's where we build an office. It gives us access to an unfair share of hyper-talented people."
