August is typically the hottest month of the year in Austin — the perfect time to sit in the AC and plan your career move. The local tech sector is a great place to start looking. To help, we’ve rounded up five cool companies from Austin tech that are hiring now where you can grow a career.

tenfold july.jpg

What they do: Tenfold’s phone intelligence platform gives time back to sales reps by eliminating the manual entry of customer interactions. Its software integrates with phone systems and CRMs to track and sync all activities between the rep and the client. It even pulls an intelligent profile at the time of dial for every customer in the system.

Why you want to work here: Located right off The Drag near UT, Tenfold’s office neighbors a coffee shop, a bakery, a frozen yogurt shop and a wings restaurant. As a Tenfold teammate, you’ll be covered with a 401(k) plan, a generous PTO package, free garage parking or commuter reimbursement, stock options and health benefits.

Note from the CEO: "The DNA of people at Tenfold: We are builders who are obsessed with our customers, we always challenge ourselves to keep learning, and have the attitude that we are going to outwork and outperform being determined to be the best,” said Patrick Hogan. “We take ownership because we care about the outcomes that will impact our customers whether they be internal or external and we look for people with a strong point of view who listen and engage choosing what is right over who is right. We are always looking for people that meet these qualities and want to be a part of Austin’s fastest growing startup.”

wp engine august.jpg

What they do: WP Engine provides managed WordPress hosting for personal, professional, business, premium and enterprise sites for over 60,000 customers. Some of these clients include Warby Parker, Reader’s Digest, National Geographic and SoundCloud.

Why you want to work here: With lunch provided Monday through Thursday, WP Engine doesn’t hold back when it comes to taking care of its employees. Additional perks include paid downtown parking or commuter reimbursement; a discounted gym membership; generous vacation time; 100 percent paid health benefits, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability; and stock options.

A note from the CPO: “At WP Engine, we don’t look for cultural fits, we look for cultural beacons,” said Annette Alexander, chief people officer. “We are building a strong and inclusive culture where each employee understands how they can impact the business and grow their careers. As we continue to grow, we look for individuals who embody our tenets of 'doing the right thing,' 'being customer inspired,' ‘where the best get better,' ‘built to last’ and ‘aspiring to lead and committed to give back’.

ProcoreAllHands2017.jpg

What they do: Connecting project managers, team members, those on site and those in the office, Procore’s software is a collaboration tool for construction. Launched in 2003, Procore’s customer base was initially slow to get going, according to CEO and founder Tooey Courtemanche. But as early adopters partnered with the company and the popularity of smartphones and tablets spread, so did Procore’s business. Today, it supports more two million users.

Why you want to work here: Procore has you covered when it comes to competitive health care plans, life insurance, unlimited PTO, volunteer days, paid parental leave, stock options and more. Plus, you’ll get to further your career through Procore’s internal learning and development program — while also enjoying catered lunches every Wednesday.

A note from leadership: “At Procore, we hire for culture first and history of excellence second,” said Brandon Oliveri-O'Connor, mid-market sales director. “The culture at Procore is best defined by our core company values of ownership, optimism and openness. Every decision made at Procore, whether it's at the leadership level or an individual contributor level, is made with these three values in mind. This focus has allowed us to acquire and retain top talent, grow into new markets internationally, and maintain a 95 percent annual customer retention rate throughout our hyper-growth over the last four years.”

Thousandeyes august.jpg

What they do: ThousandEyes is one of those companies where its name hints at what it actually does. The company launched in 2010 and develops network intelligence solutions that provides a bird's eye view into a client’s network, cloud and internet, as well as into each individual network system. The result is visibility into how the network affects an organization’s applications, users and customers.

Why you want to work here: The company opened its Austin office in TechSpace last August. All employees are entitled to stock options and 401(k); mental, dental, vision and life insurance, an open vacation policy, catered lunches, gym subsidies, and commuter benefits.

A note from leadership: “ThousandEyes has established an environment in Austin where the brightest sales and customer success talent have come together to do their best work and realize their potential,” said Victoria Abeling, director of corporate sales. “We hire top talent based on values we represent: grit, passion, integrity, innovation, and curiosity. Together, we are at the forefront of solving challenges for companies as they undergo digital transformation. We continue to look for highly specialized team members who are incredibly collaborative and customer-focused to assist organizations as the cloud and internet reshape their corporate IT infrastructure."

get smart content.jpg

What they do: The website personalization platform built by Get Smart Content helps marketers build stronger, deeper, more relevant experiences with their customers. Their client list includes HP, Siemens, GE, Abila and Citrix.

Why you want to work here: As a digital marketing personalization expert, you will join a squad that values individual growth and team collaboration. Benefits include 100 percent paid healthcare, stock options, a flexible vacation policy, performance recognition rewards, 401(k) and FSA plans, and regular community service and team building activities.

A note from leadership: “We try hard to do things right here. We are each ambitious in every sense, we don't dwell on past successes or failures, but we learn from both and iterate. Each day we recommit to each other to go above and beyond to be the absolute pinnacle of who we each are so that every one of us operates as a leader, together. We are willing to think differently, bold enough to believe it, and strong enough to make it happen. Join us!”
