Parking in downtown Austin is as about as fun as eating tar. Spots are in high demand, and come with a hefty price tag. Fortunately, most tech companies with central offices offer employees parking and commuter incentives to ease the pain. Here are four downtown Austin offices mitigating parking woes for their teams.
At BigCommerce’s downtown abode, employees can opt for company-paid downtown parking or a light rail pass for commuting from North Austin. Just a few blocks north of the light rail station, BigCommerce’s office opened in 2015 to house the company’s product and engineering teams. Their other Austin office is their corporate headquarters, located in northwest Austin off 2222 and NFM 620.
Office hopping from Capital Factory to Congress Ave in its early days, TrendKite named its location at Brazos and 8th Street as its long-term home. The startup, which measures PR campaign efficacy, has expanded to north of 200 employees since its 2015 launch. As TrendKite continues to grow its team, it’s begun construction to take over additional floors of the Brazos Place building, where TrendKite employees can enjoy company-sponsored downtown parking.
Employees of Idean’s Austin office not only get downtown parking covered, but they also get to work next door to Easy Tiger, one of the city’s premier bakeries and beer gardens. Idean’s historic East Sixth Street office opened in 2014 after the global UX design firm saw a growing local client base. Based in Finland, Idean has six additional offices including three in California and one each in New York, Finland and Germany.
Shopgate moved its U.S. headquarters to downtown Austin in 2016. The German-based company develops mobile apps and websites for online retailers. Using push notifications, segmented push messages, ad scanners and more, Shopgate’s solutions focus on customer retention more so than acquisition. The office sits right off Congress Avenue, just blocks away from our state’s towering capitol building. All employees can take advantage of subsidized downtown parking.
