Above and beyond: 5 tech companies adding rockstars to their client support and success teams

If you want a job that offers a good gauge of how customers really feel about your company’s products, you’ll find it in the customer support and success roles. These Austin tech companies are now hiring for people with a passion for keeping customers happy.

What they do: Integrating with any CRM or system of record, Tenfold’s software helps customer-facing employees see real-time, aggregated customer information in one view. It also automatically tracks and logs customers calls.

Open roles: Customer Success Manager, Customer Support Engineer

Who they are looking for: For the customer success role, applicants should have at least three years of prior experience in an account management role tied to retention. The support engineer should have at least two years of customer support or customer success experience. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are a must for both roles.

What they do: What began as a photo blog in 2008 has now evolved into a digital media company that includes e-commerce lines and massive charity work. CHIVE TV is a free-streaming entertainment channel that plays viral videos from theCHIVE.com in five-hour loops.

Open role: CHIVE TV Customer Service Representative

Who they are looking for: Prior customer service experience is preferred but not mandatory. Must have a bachelor’s degree and passion for sales, marketing and customer care.

What they do: Worksmith’s platform provides a marketplace for local services providers for facilities management, dry cleaning and laundry, events and office setup.

Open Role: Customer Support Representative

Who they are looking for: Self-motivated, positive-minded problem solvers with a willingness to learn. A four-year college degree is required.

What they do: Since 1990, TicketCity has provided a marketplace for purchasing tickets to live events like sports and concerts throughout the country.

Open roles: Part-time Client Relations Specialist, Client Relations Specialist (8am-5pm Shift), Client Relations Specialist (12pm-9pm Shift)

Who they are looking for: People passionate about live events willing to go beyond customer expectations. Confidence, high energy and a genuine love of helping people also a plus.

What they do: XO Group runs the wedding planning resource The Knot, new-parent/expecting parents site The Bump, and the all-things-home site The Nest.

Open role: Escalation Specialist

Who they are looking for: Previous customer service is required with a preference to those who have experience working in the small business, wedding industry. Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
