Accounting Manager

A day in the life of an Accounting Manager:
The Accounting Manager will assist the Controller with most aspects of the accounting department including management of the different teams within the group. This includes management of the day-to-day functions, closing tasks, and audits to ensure deadlines are met and the functions are completed with accuracy.
Manage the closing process, projects, year-end, and filings requirements to ensure timely completion. (25%)
Review work completed by the team to ensure accuracy and adherence to the agreements with our clients. (25%)
Review and test for completeness of work completed by the teams. (25%)
Ensure the Controller is informed and aware of important changes, happenings, and any other pertinent information. (25%)
Manage and develop the growth, productivity, efficiency, and happiness of the employees in our department. (25%)
Maintain a good working relationship with the teams outside of the Accounting department.
Other duties as needed.
The position will supervise 2-5 employees.
Decision making and independent judgment will be required on a day-to-day basis.
What you’ll need to have:
BS in Accounting
8 years of accounting experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products
Experience in real estate, preferably rental properties
Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
Proficiency with Yardi preferred
Evening/night/weekend work required from time to time.
Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
