About the Role
Join the People Innovation Lab to build and deploy smart tools for the People organization. This role sits within the people in places function under the lead for AI transformation and strategic initiatives. This role is focused on helping us to automate the processes that bog people down and moving us towards an agentic future.
Key focus:
  • Identify and eliminate manual workflows across the People team.
  • Build diverse automation solutions (Google Workspace, Workers, background jobs, multi-step agents).
  • Utilize AI coding tools (e.g., OpenCode) and build autonomous agents.
  • Strong fundamentals and fast execution are key.
What You'll Build & Do
  • Build:
    • Workflow automations (Google Workspace, APIs, third-party platforms).
    • Event-driven automations using Cloudflare Workers.
    • AI-powered tools (LLM APIs like Gemini, Workers AI) for reasoning (summarization, routing).
    • Reusable components and early-stage, stateful, autonomous agents.
    • Clean documentation.
  • Do:
    • Audit workflows for high-value automation.
    • Build and ship automations in JavaScript/TypeScript (Google Workspace, Workers).
    • Integrate AI/LLM APIs; use AI-assisted development (OpenCode).
    • Explore and apply Cloudflare's full automation stack (Workers, Durable Objects, AI Gateway, Vectorize).
    • Participate in agile ceremonies and present work.
Requirements
  • Minimum:
    • Pursuing/equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
    • Proficient in JavaScript or Python; writes clean code.
    • Experience with REST APIs and structured data.
    • Independent problem-solving.
    • Fluent with AI tools.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience building automations (Zapier, Make, n8n, Apps Script, custom code).
    • Prior LLM/AI API integration experience.
    • Familiarity with event-driven/serverless architecture.
    • Exposure to agent frameworks/multi-step AI workflows.
