Position Overview: 
The Kendra Scott Design team has an exciting opportunity to facilitate design projects in order to meet aesthetic and manufacturing objectives according to timeline commitments. Reporting to the Design Manager, the CAD Technician will support various aspects of the Design process including the creation of manufacturing models, technical artwork, and design specifications as well as implementation of design technologies. 

Responsibilities: 
CAD/CAM Model Creation 
• Plan, develop, and maintain mechanical 3D CAD models, drawings and images for product based on manager’s direction 
• Provide 3D CAD models and technical specifications to yield the highest quality finished products within a specified timeline 
• Adjust factory-produced CAD models to meet aesthetic and functionality expectations for styles 
• Explore non-traditional jewelry techniques to create CAD models 
• Operate and maintain 3D printer 
• Contribute to technical innovations and design 
• Create photo realistic renders from CAD files 

CAD Technology 
• Keep current with design technology; Report findings and make recommendations for new technologies to management 
• Troubleshoot existing technologies 

Operations 
• Establish, monitor, and ensure timelines and accurate completion of projects while keeping management updated on project status 
• Identify opportunities for improvement and create best practices within area of responsibility and overall department 
• Provide operational leadership among coworkers 

Shared Resource Management 
• Maintain and organize 2D and 3D shared files and design standards 
• Partner with Design team members and Technical Design to organize standards 

Design Team Member 
• Maintain a high level of communication with other members of the Design team to ensure continual progress toward timely assortment completion 
• Adapt personal aesthetic to be compatible with brand aesthetic and changing market trends 
• Stay open to team adjustments to all samples and models and be prepared to follow other designer’s aesthetic direction and changes 
• Maintain a clean, efficient and safe working environment 

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have: 
• 6 years of CAD/CAM experience within jewelry industry 
• Ability to produce models in Matrix and Rhino software, working with polysurface, T-splines, and mesh files 
• Ability to create models using Zbrush 
• Experience with EnvisionTec printers 
• Knowledge of costume and fine jewelry construction-stone settings as well as working mechanisms including clasps and hinges 
• Ability to work independently 
• Excellent listening and communication skills 
• Ability to receive and apply constructive feedback 
• Basic problem solving skills with an eye for technical detail 
• The ability to contribute to a pleasant and fast paced work environment 
• Familiarity with JewelCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator are preferred 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred
