Position Summary

Job Summary:
SciPlay is currently seeking a 3D generalist who is highly creative, self-motivated and has a broad range of 3D skills to work on the popular Monopoly Slots product. As a member of the team, the 3D generalist is expected to have excellent animation and 3D skills, both artistically and technically.
The successful candidate is a 3D generalist with particular strength/emphasis in animation and 3D modeling. This artist should have experience working on all aspects of 3D - including the modeling/texturing of both hard surface and organic props, architecture, terrain and environments. Also be comfortable lighting scenes and have some VFX knowledge.
Artist will spend most of their time animating characters, modeling environments and art assets that complement and enhance the slot players’ experience. The ability to work quickly and efficiently as part of a team, take direction, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure is crucial. Artists are expected to be well-versed in industry standard software programs.
Responsibilities (This is most important):
- Create efficient, high quality, 3D assets including characters, environment props, architecture, and terrain
- Work with the development team to create 3D assets from mockup phase to final production
- Accurately creating visual elements in line with the visual direction defined by the brand and Art Director
- Work closely with Senior Artists, producing high-quality art in an iterative process
- Preparing assets for export to the Unity game engine.
- Able to work independently and produce high quality art within given time estimates
- Continually hone artistic and professional skills via learning from other team members, independent learning and company training
Other Duties and Responsibilities (you can learn this):
- Working with sprite based animations and VFX
- Ability to collaborate with other disciplines, software engineers, design, product
- Competency and diligence in the use of version control software
- Document new processes and features
Required Experience:
- 3 years’ experience as an Associate Artist or 2 years’ experience in a game production environment
- Extensive portfolio displaying diverse artistic skills.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (In order of importance):
- Solid Unity Game Engine experience
- 3D software (3D Studio Max, Maya)
- Animate simple characters and props
- Knowledge of light baking
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Source Control, etc.)
- Knowledge of MS Office
- 2D painting/concepting a plus
