Content Marketing Specialist (Contract)
RetailMeNot is expanding its Content Marketing efforts and is seeking a Content Marketing Specialist to join the Marketing team in beautiful downtown Austin. This is a full-time contractor position that will allow you to grow your skill set in Content Marketing and Brand Marketing while assisting the team in the creation, optimization and distribution of content for RetailMeNot. You will play a key role in helping us execute our strategy to drive customer acquisition and customer retention while building brand affinity and loyalty. Our dream candidate has great energy, strong communication and writing skills, excellent problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of our target audience and an undeniable eye for detail.
Who You Are:
- Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, English or Communication
- 3+ years of experience creating B2C digital content
- Experienced with developing SEO content strategies, keyword research and link-building
- Working knowledge of content management systems (WordPress experience is a must), Photoshop and Google Analytics
- Highly analytical and wonderfully creative to boot
- Detail-oriented with copy editing expertise and familiarity with AP Style
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be a self-starter and capable of staying on top of the latest industry trends
- Love working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Innovative with the drive to not only express ideas but act on them
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Interested in growing general marketing and advertising expertise
What You'll Do:
- Assist in day-to-day management of the RetailMeNot blog, including writing articles, editing content and images and uploading all to WordPress
- Brainstorm content topics and ideas for editorial calendar planning and assign pieces out to appropriate writers
- Work cross-functionally with departments like SEO, Social, Creative and PR on integrated content marketing campaigns to drive link-building and organic traffic goals
- Develop content for advertising partners, specific target audience segments, new content verticals and to drive education and adoption of new savings tools
- Track and analyze key blog health metrics (e.g. traffic, time on page, bounce) and make content optimizations based on performance
- Act as your own copy editor and review content in the process of development
- Monitor competitor blogs and stay up to date on search trends to identify opportunities for organic traffic growth and page ranking
- Identify relevant sites and influencers that RetailMeNot would benefit from partnering with
- Assist in marketing campaign planning and development of creative briefs
- Use audience attitudes and behaviors to develop insight-driven content
- Get stuff done, and always create with the goal of helping people save money every single day
