Content Strategist
Q2 is seeking a Content Strategist to help us develop the content strategy function within our Marketing team. This role will blend content creation with the development and maintenance of key tools across the content lifecycle, including editorial calendars, messaging and persona frameworks, content performance dashboards, and more. Ideally, you are a proficient writer who can apply your content expertise to help develop strategies for future content development.
You will work with a cross-functional marketing team to develop plans for inbound and campaign-driven content, assist with messaging and audience direction, and write compelling content to support these initiatives.
This is a new role in a well-established content team where you’ll have a big impact, build new systems and processes, and work with great, passionate, creative people.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to plan, create, edit, publish, and analyze performance of content
- Works with campaigns team to determine content plan for individual campaign effort
- Will help develop and operate always-on and inbound content programs
- Will help develop foundational content marketing tools and systems (e.g., editorial calendar, buyer personas/audiences, messaging frameworks, etc.)
- Will help drive web content experiences and updates
- Works with content and creative leadership to ensure content strategy meets business objectives
- Research through interviewing subject matter experts within Q2 and outside of Q2 as well as leverage and the latest news, reporting and insights on a given topic
- Work on concurrent projects and ensure that deliverables are achieved on time, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and creativity
- Provide input and content when necessary for corporate website, blog, social media communities, and in general, solid content creation that drives awareness
- Bachelor's degree required
- 8+ years of content, content strategy, and/or content marketing experience required
- Openness to a rapidly changing and growing environment in which teams, processes, and priorities are evolving regularly
- Passion for collaborating with fellow creative and content team members, as well as other marketing and business partners
- Autonomous, able to operate as project or content lead for key projects and processes, including collaboration with other marketing functions, stakeholders and subject matter experts, sales and sales enablement functions, etc.
- Strong working knowledge of content mediums/channels and their respective strengths (e.g., social media, email, blog, video, etc.)
- Ability to help assess content performance and apply learnings to future content efforts
- Strong writing ability as some content production will be required
- Ability to identify and write to different audience needs
