Healthgrades is the largest digital marketplace in the US for consumers to choose and connect with the right healthcare professional for their specific needs. Our health content helps people research symptoms, conditions, and procedures, decide when to seek care, and prepare to have a productive appointment that will lead to positive health outcomes. We’re looking for a talented Sub-Editor to join our fast growing editorial team and sub edit original content targeting consumers, patients, and healthcare professionals. You’ll work closely with our writers, editors, and medical reviewers to ensure that our content is grammatically correct, concise, easy to read and understand, and, above all, medically accurate.

What You’ll Do:

  • Edit clinical content for style, tone, and flow
  • Correct grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors
  • Conform content to in-house style, including our evolving conscious language guidelines
  • Review sources for quality and proper citation format
  • Collaborate with editors and medical reviewers to resolve inaccuracies
  • Perform quality control on published content
  • Provide feedback to editors on quality of work
  • Update in-house style guide and documentation
  • Contribute to project work as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Journalism, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of editorial experience
  • Experience with health and wellness/lifestyle content
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of AP style
  • Hawk-like ability to catch errant punctuation and grammatical mistakes
  • Astute sense of appropriate voice and tone
  • Knack for making content flow
  • Love of language
  • Interest in trending health and wellness topics
  • Strong skills in meeting deadlines and prioritizing workload
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and tracked changes in Microsoft Word
  • Experience with a content management system

Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay Act, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in Colorado. The following benefits are provided by Red Ventures, subject to eligibility requirements.

  • Starting Salary: $55,000 - $70,000*
    *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications and experience
