About the Role

The ideal person for this role is driven by our mission. You'll be joining a small, tight-knit remote team that does anything and everything to make Airfordable run smoothly. We know that good copy is invaluable to any brand and we’re looking for someone who lives and breathes it. As a wordsmith, you’ll spend your day doing what you do best — writing engaging copy that converts, and resonates with consumers who interact with the Airfordable brand. We're looking for someone who will help us build, grow, and maintain our unique marketing engagement with consumers.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop & evolve the Airfordable brand voice to connect our brand promise with our consumers across various marketing channels with the goal of driving growth and engagement.
  • Develop copy and content across a range of consumer touch-points including, but not limited to email, social media and blog content while ensuring brand consistency.
  • Support paid advertising efforts with marketing copy that drives data-driven performance.
  • Collaborate with the creative marketing team to conceptualize creative ideas including coming up with copy and corresponding high resolution images that support and generate excitement around the Airfordable brand across all marketing channels.
  • Work closely with the creative marketing team to ensure words and pictures work hand-in-hand, and voice is consistent with the concept and brand.
  • Translate product details and brand differentiators into compelling concepts and engaging stories.
  • Self manage campaign schedules & deadlines to deliver work on time.
  • Service internal team needs for copy as needed.
  • Keep a pulse on trends in the travel industry and the competitor landscape and strive to convey authority through copy.

About You

You're an experienced and engaging copywriter who is fueled by the love of story-telling and distilling brand messages. You're comfortable writing in long and short copy across channels and working on tight deadlines. You're a quick study, a real team player, a multi-tasker, and you don't mind a little ambiguity being peppered into your daily routine. You possess excellent attention to detail, exceptional organizational and time-management skills and the ability to turn direction and critical feedback into outstanding results. You can make the world of travel sound exciting and accessible while aligning content with our consumers' passions, needs and pain points.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of writing experience at a strong brand, agency or publication.
  • Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or related.
  • Proven experience with creative copy development on behalf of a brand, including a compelling portfolio of writing work.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic marketing principles.
  • Familiar with marketing on social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects with excellent prioritization and communication skills.
  • Flawless attention to detail.
  • Nerd out on words; understand the nuances of synonyms and syntax and polish every sentence until it shines.
  • High degree of comfort learning new software and technologies appropriate to business needs of the role and projects as required.
  • Travel experience is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
