The Gig

Drumroll is seeking a Junior Copywriter. The role requires all of the standard Copywriter-y responsibilities---you will be expected to develop and execute concepts based on project briefs, present concepts to clients, revise direction and execute the final concept. It also requires a super strategic thinker, who is brilliant at crafting the way a brand connects through voice definition, social campaigns, event activations and digital campaigns.

As a Junior Copywriter, this role will participate in brainstorms, execute creative based on project briefs, present work internally and to our clients, revising direction based on analytics and feedback, then executing final deliverables—the usual. Projects can include digital advertising executions, email, website copy, presentation copy, press releases, research findings, agency POVs and more. Projects may be client based or internal agency projects. The copywriter reports directly to the Associate Creative Director, and ultimately the Executive Creative Director.

What you gotta know

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of digital copywriting experience required (Traditional copywriting experience a bonus)
  • Proven ability to write to a wide range of audience types (gamers, active people, techies, etc)
  • Experience presenting to clients
  • Versed in the latest trends on writing for digital (best practices for subject lines and CTAs, story telling in a digital space, etc.)
  • Attentive to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree, portfolio program or equivalent job experience in an industry relevant area

Extra cools

  • Digital Ad Agency experience
  • Have prior experience with national brands (this is strongly preferred), especially in regulated categories.
  • Routinely use the name McGyver as a verb
  • Your gif game is strong—however you pronounce it

Coinage

Salary is based on qualifications, experience and is competitive with market value for the position.
