News Producer

About the role:
Atmosphere News is looking for two News Producer to curate and edit video content, write headlines and stack rundowns for our new streaming news channel. The role will involve weekend and weekday shifts. Candidates must have strong video editing and news writing abilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for news and hard work, but also be ready to embrace work-life balance and contribute to a positive newsroom.

About Atmosphere:
Atmosphere is the world’s first and largest free ad-supported streaming TV service for businesses offering original, owned, and operated TV channels along with Partner Channels from prominent brands. The platform has been built from the ground up with proprietary content, technology, and data to deliver unparalleled experiences for businesses and advertisers. The platform also provides a paid upgrade to a digital signage feature for businesses to run their house promotions within the content. Atmosphere was incubated under Chive Media Group and spun out in 2019.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Curate, edit and produce video and graphics content for Atmosphere News
• Write and edit strong but measured headlines
• Tell informative stories in an audio-optional format
• Constantly exhibit journalistic standards, practices and discipline
• Work and thrive in a fast paced startup environment

REQUIREMENTS

• 1-3 years of professional news production experience
• BS/BA in journalism, communication or related field
• Experience with Adobe Suite: Premiere and After Effects
• Proactive work ethic under deadline pressure
• Ability to bring new ideas to the table as a self-starter and a team player
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask
• Efficiency with Google Suite (i.e., Sheets, Docs)
• Remote work will be considered, but preference for producers to ultimately be in the Austin newsroom
