About the role:

Atmosphere News is looking for a Senior News Editor to help lead a team that curates and edits video content, writes headlines and stacks rundowns for a new streaming news channel. The chosen candidate must be a strong news writer and editor. This role reports to the VP of News.
JOB DESCRIPTION

• Oversee the curation, editing and production of video and graphics content for Atmosphere News
• Write and edit strong but measured headlines
• Tell informative stories in an audio-optional format
• Constantly exhibit journalistic standards, practices and discipline
• Work and thrive in a fast paced startup environment
• Collaborate with teams and leaders across departments

PREFERENCES

• 3+ years of professional video editing, writing and copy editing for news
• BS/BA in journalism, communication or related field
• Experience with Adobe Suite: Premiere and After Effects
• Proactive work ethic under deadline pressure
• Ability to bring new ideas to the table as a self-starter and a team player
• Proven leadership, personal integrity and charisma to build consensus with colleagues
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask
• Efficiency with Google Suite (i.e., Sheets, Docs)
• Remote work will be considered, but preference for the senior news editor to ultimately be in the Austin newsroom
