Our Programming team is looking for a creative, adaptable, and resourceful Senior Producer to work full-time out of our Austin office, leading and managing one or more creative teams in a new division focused on experimentation and piloting new unscripted formats. This position is a full-fledged people manager and team lead for someone who has experience writing and producing a large volume of short form videos for the web. The ideal candidate will have management experience, a deep knowledge of and passion for internet social trends in the gaming and animation worlds, an excellent creative eye, and great communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead brainstorms, mentor producers, give effective and actionable creative notes and final approval on videos with team and stakeholders in a timely fashion
  • Observe trends on social platforms to make shareable and relatable content
  • Work closely with the Chief Creative Officer to ensure videos maintain a consistent and unique Rooster Teeth voice
  • Schedule and run efficient check-ins and other meetings with the team
  • Encourage new ideas and experimentation and celebrate success
  • Guide and follow-up on direct reports' career goals
  • Identify and raise potential content improvements to the department head
  • Follow up on the team's successes and actively work to help the team succeed
  • Collaborate with other team leads to create a consistent voice across all content
  • Communicate analytics to execs and creative teams to help guide development of new content

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in video production with people management experience
  • Understanding of the digital landscape and a proven interest in keeping up to date with developments in web platforms and applications
  • Knowledge of the online video ecosystem, Native YouTube and Facebook users, interest in newer or emerging platforms (ex: Snapchat and Instagram Stories)
  • Deep understanding of how to make shareable content for a variety of media
  • Deep understanding of how titles and thumbnails can affect a video's performance
  • Experience giving creative notes and workshopping creative ideas as well as giving effective technical notes
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Strong ability to establish priorities and work under time constraints in a fast-paced, startup environment
