We are looking for a Sr. Copywriter to join the Connected Fitness Creative team. This storyteller will create work that will empower every person who puts on our shirts, laces up our shoes, or uses our apps. Our products make all athletes better, and the stories we tell engage and encourage them throughout their health and fitness journeys. The ideal candidate will be obsessed with attitude, authenticity, and all things app and web. They will be driven and ambitious. So, if you’re not just any writer and you’re ready to show the world what your stories are really made of, we’re looking for you.


The preferred candidate has experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing a diverse workload, and championing the importance of quality copy within all phases of the creative process. It doesn’t hurt if you are passionate about health and fitness. This is a great opportunity to be an integral part of the Under Armour team, building the latest in digital & physical products to make all athletes better.


This position is based in our Austin, TX office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop powerful product stories around Under Armour’s suite of apps, connected footwear, technologies, and occasional marketing
  • Write and edit copy supporting all connected fitness activities with a focus on content that compels an audience to take action and is original in the marketplace
  • Review teammates’ work to ensure it aligns to tone, style, brand guidelines, and voice
  • Work within the greater design team, while partnering with product owners, marketing, and eCommerce partners
  • Collaborate in the exploration of new, innovative product ideas while refining existing features
  • Socialize and present design solutions and rationale to the team and key stakeholders
  • Follow and share industry trends and emerging technologies and how they impact solutions
  • Assist with user research and competitive analysis


REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in digital product design
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems, even when they are not fully defined
  • Proven creative ability
  • Writing, curating, and editing content for accuracy, clarity, and usability
  • Mastery of short-form and long-form written communication
  • Adhering to and developing style and identity guidelines
  • Defining content goals and journeys based on user or customer goals
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and design for the interactions between language and design elements to construct a logical, compelling narrative throughout user/client journey
  • Experience working within diverse, dynamic, cross-functional teams
  • Eager to solicit feedback from real users and teammates
  • Ability to listen and understand client feedback and feedback from internal critiques
  • Ability to manage many tasks at once and deliver high-quality output every time, on time


DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Writing, English, Journalism, Communication, Information Design, or related
  • Foundational understanding of UX design and design research 
  • Able to understand the conceptual basis of a brand and how it should inform content
  • Familiarity with content to developer handoff
  • Considerate of file etiquette in a shared environment
