About the opportunity
Ontra is seeking a Director of Content Strategy to join our rapidly growing company and contribute to a world-class marketing and content strategy. The Director of Content Strategy will play a foundational role in building the company's content and demand generation departments. As a person with deep knowledge of the legal technology or investment industry, the Director of Content Strategy will help drive the company’s marketing strategy by working alongside functional leads to define content priorities that build awareness, drive pipeline and accelerate deal cycles. This person should also be an exceptional writer who can successfully manage the full cycle of content—long-form and short-form—from ideation to execution.
The Director of Content Strategy will report to the Vice President of Growth at Ontra and this position is remote.*
What you’ll do
- Strategy Definition: Understand Ontra’s overarching business strategy and develop a content strategy that supports key company initiatives.
- Idea generation: Work with functional leads to determine content gaps and recommend topic ideas based on key business and user insights; apply strategic planning skills to create a long-term vision for content that advances business objectives.
- Content creation: Serve as the content lead for content across all funnel stages; use deep understanding of the legal industry to create exceptional long-form content like white papers, guides, and reports.
- Ad-hoc requests: Handle one-off requests from different departments to help with attorney and employee recruitment campaigns
- Optimization: Partner with marketing operations and digital marketing to optimize content across the digital journey
- Reporting: Measure content KPIs on a monthly basis with respect to month over month growth and high level performance for senior management
What you’ll bring
- Experience: 8+ years of content writing experience focused on legal technology or financial services, including 3+ years of people management experience
- Written communication: Ability to write at a high level across a variety of marketing materials including white papers, blog posts, emails, and direct response ads
- Detail oriented: Attention to detail while creating new content, interviewing subject matter experts, and aligning content deadlines with existing marketing programs
- Collaborative: Ability to work cross functionally, especially with sales/account management teams
- Technical expertise: SEO-savvy; experience using data to analyze content consumption patterns and adjust content strategy accordingly; ability to use a content management system
- Exceptional storytelling skills: Expert understanding of how to craft and evolve narratives related to the legal industry and emerging technology
- Deadline-driven: Highly organized and can manage projects across a variety of personas and mediums
