Red Ventures is looking for a Student Loans Writer to join our Bankrate team to educate our audience about student loans. This will include writing new articles that answer key consumer questions (such as “How to apply for a student loan” and “How do student loan interest rates work”), updating existing articles to ensure accuracy and freshness, and reviewing student loan lenders.

We are looking for a hard-working, detail-oriented individual who can help us further grow our presence in the student loan space. Ideal candidates should be passionate about helping consumers who are seeking a student loan to pay for college and those who are trying to pay off their student debt. An ability to work well in a team setting is a must.

What You'll Do:

• Write impactful stories that reach millions of readers each month
• Educational articles ("What is a private student loan?")
• Advice ("Should I refinance my student loans?")
• Analysis ("The most valuable college majors")
• Collaborate with creative teams across the business
• Monitor news and brainstorm story ideas with other writers
• Work with the editor to respond to edits and meet deadlines
• Maintain a seasonal content calendar with the SEO team
• Champion the Bankrate brand
• Audit and evaluate content published on site
• Uphold the Bankrate voice and style
• Take complicated subjects and explain them with easily understandable language

What We're Looking For:

• At least 2 years of professional writing experience
• Knowledge and interest in student loans or personal finance
• Excellent research, writing and editorial skills, with the ability to respond to edits
• Enthusiasm for writing SEO content and helping Bankrate’s readers
• Ability to write content based on SEO concepts and best practices
• Ability to grasp the voice, style and tone of the Bankrate brand
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with a team and individually as needed
• Experience with AP Style
