We're looking for a self-starting, detail-oriented, experienced Technical Writer to join our documentation team.
We create documentation that supports system administrators, implementers, and business users as they use SailPoint's suite of products to discover, secure, and manage every type of identity. The scope of our documentation includes initial setup, system configuration, and day-to-day operations. We also contribute to overall product usability by developing and editing clear and succinct UI messages and labels.
As part of creating content, you will work with members of several other teams: Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI design, Professional Services, and Support. You will need to demonstrate initiative and be willing to dig for answers while cultivating these important relationships.
Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality documentation in an Agile environment
  • Work closely with Product Managers on scope and priority of tasks to ensure timely delivery
  • Collaborate with Engineers to ensure an accurate understanding of how the product works
  • Solicit stakeholder reviews and perform peer reviews of content produced by others
  • Verify accuracy of documentation prior to publishing, and maintain it as needed
  • Maintain current documentation, addressing defects as needed

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of technical writing experience, backed by a degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Experience writing content for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to research unfamiliar subject matter and experiment with early prototypes
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, continuous delivery deployment environment

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience using Madcap Flare, Jira, and GitHub
  • Experience following Agile methodologies
  • Ability to take a user-centric approach to documentation, focusing on what the customer needs over what the system does
  • Experience producing task-based content that successfully guides customers through installation, implementation, and routine tasks
  • Comfortable working asynchronously with remote teams across multiple time zones

SailPoint is an equal opportunity employer and we welcome everyone to our team. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
