Vrbo is seeking a Video Editor to join our Creative Dept. team and help grow our storytelling and content creation efforts internally. This will include video needs for our consumer and homeowner communications. You’ll work alongside a team of writers, art directors, designers, producers, project managers, etc. to create video that tells a story, drives an action and honors our brand voice. The video content you create will live in various environments including broadcast, digital, social, paid social as well internal communications for our company.

Though not a requirement at this time, this role could also provide an opportunity for the right candidate to step outside the traditional role of editor to shoot and direct various creative projects and films.

The Creative Dept. is an international, multi-disciplinary group of creatives with a deep curiosity about the world and an undeniable passion for travel. As part of the Global Brand team, we’re responsible for imagining, developing, and delivering high-caliber, multimedia marketing programs to engage and inform our travelers (B2C) and property owners/managers (B2B). What You'll Do

What You’ll Bring

  • You have the experience and flexibility to edit across a myriad of genres. Our expanding library encompasses travel, property features, lifestyle, marketing, education, live events, social media feeds etc.

  • You can look at footage and cut things better than we could ever imagine but you can also collaborator, take notes and incorporate them.

  • You can take something from raw footage to competition including color correction and basic graphics in After Effects.

  • No two days are the same but you have the confidence to work simultaneously on multiple projects of different styles and goals.

  • You have a strong knowledge of song structure and beats

  • You are organized and understand the importance of file structure, clear labeling, archiving of RAW footage, etc.

  • You are a collaborative team player who is comfortable exchanging ideas, taking feedback, and participating in creative critiques with colleagues and project leaders.

  • Bonus points if you have shooting experience.

Who You Are

Skills & Requirements

  • Expert level of proficiency in Premiere and/or Final Cut Pro. (including A/V syncing, creating original graphics & VFX, using multicam clips etc.)

  • Advanced command of After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Experience with additional standard design and layout applications (e.g. Sketch and InDesign).

  • Color correction capabilities

  • Sound designing and mixing within either Premiere or Audition

  • Working knowledge of media broadcast file formats and technology

  • Direct experience editing for social channels with knowledge of required file formats and ad unit specifications.

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate your creative process, thoughts, ideas and a point of view about your work.

  • Experience working within film, agency, production studio or broadcast environment.

  • 5+ years of video editing experience.
