ABOUT THE ROLE 


We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analytics Manager to lead a growing team that sits within the broader Global Operations Analytics team. They will help develop the analytics infrastructure that enables us not only to support day-to-day workstreams but also to understand and predict trends across our operations and product teams as we scale rapidly. You will cultivate a deep understanding of Babylon’s business to help drive your analytical solutions, and you must be able to communicate the value of your work across different disciplines, effectively embed your solutions in day-to-day operations, and deliver on tight timelines. 


You will work closely with stakeholders and contributors across multiple product and operations teams to help us build a digital-first service that supports millions of patients globally and serve as the analytical powerhouse behind core projects from origination to implementation. This work will help us grow a data-driven organization with gold-standard reporting, thoughtfully curated analytical infrastructure, and stakeholder self service that enables rapid growth into new markets and supports best-in-class experiences for patients, clinical professionals, and partners in care.

AREAS YOU CAN IMPACT 


-Patient Operations Analytics - We make sure patients are receiving the best care with the best health outcomes, all while driving down costs by helping members get the care they need at the right time. For this team, it’s a bonus to have experience working with healthcare data, especially related to claims, value-based care, and/or population health management and experience working in an operations and/or product dev organization.


-Business Reporting & Infrastructure - We own the “one dashboard to rule them all” and other strategic reporting and infrastructure that supports our business from the top down. For this team, it’s a bonus to have strong visualization and dashboarding skills and experience working with senior leadership teams.


-Supply & Demand Analytics - We ensure that appointment scheduling is accessible to patients and that we have appropriate clinical staffing to meet all our members’ needs. For this team, it’s a bonus to have experience in forecasting and modelling.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of analysts in one of our Global Operations Analytics (GOA) teams, including upskilling more junior team members in all areas from SQL techniques to business acumen, as well as identifying hiring requirements to recruit into any gaps
  • Oversee prioritization and planning of work for your team, and use this to inform the wider GOA team’s roadmap
  • Be the “second in command” for a GOA Analytics Lead, i.e. be the main point of contact and work closely to grow and scale the team
  • Drive core decisions around data infrastructure and co-own the ETL and data model for your team’s data domains
  • Work with our development and data engineering teams to create the required models and analysis to drive business initiatives, and maintain a data platform that is optimised for its end users
  • Work closely with business leads and clinicians to optimize our foundational data infrastructure to support a gold-standard suite of reports and dashboards that will be used for data-driven decision-making across the company
  • Develop a strong understanding of Babylon’s business to define appropriate metrics, key success indicators, and effective feedback loops, then help Babylon at large understand and act on them by communicating insights to senior stakeholders and business partners on a regular basis (including product, engineering, commercial, marketing, etc.)
  • Mentor power business users on the use of reporting tools to support self service
  • Help drive a culture of strong analytics and data-driven thinking across the business

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience leading or managing a team of analysts; minimum of 1-2 years preferred
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, with experience in a technical analytics role
  • Numerical degree: Maths, Engineering, Science, Computer Science, Finance or related subjects
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a technical analytics role
  • 3-5+ years business experience using SQL
  • 3-5+ years experience using Tableau or a similar BI tool to build reporting dashboards and analyse data
  • 2-3+ years experience leveraging ETL/ELT and data modelling tools such as dbt or similar
  • Strong business acumen and proven creativity in developing process and cost optimization initiatives
  • Experience capturing requirements and building end-to-end, cross-functional analytical solutions that meet stakeholder needs across various roles and levels of seniority
  • Experience building models and dashboards on tight timelines and embedding these in operational workstreams to inform real-time business decisions
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to take initiative in a fast-paced work environment and adopt a generalist do-what-it-takes mindset
  • You need to want to make change now – creating a long-term vision isn’t just about strategy that will be implemented over the next 5 years, it’s about processes that can change the business in the next 6 months

NICE TO HAVE

  • Numerical degree: Maths, Engineering, Science, Computer Science, Finance or related subjects
  • Experience in dbt
  • Experience with Tableau, Looker, and/or Mixpanel
  • Fundamentals in Python or R
  • Experience working in a startup culture
  • Experience working on tight timelines and providing analytics insights to inform real-time business decisions
