The Asset Management team oversees all asset-level decisions including acquisition underwriting, capital expenditures, leasing and asset dispositions for our residential business and services & manages a portfolio of CRE loan investments for the private credit business. This team sits at the center of our Investment Management and Field Operations teams, serving as leaders and collaborators with every function throughout the organization managing the asset acquisition and improvement lifecycle, and working with our capital management, portfolio management, and operational field teams. The team seeks a highly motivated individual who will work in a fast-paced environment as a buy-side associate in the single-family residential real estate sector. The associate will be quickly making investment decisions and will have an ability to make an immediate impact in a fast-growing team.

Responsibilities:

•Manage a team of Underwriting Analysts making decisions to acquire a single-family property by tracking the asset through bid, due diligence period and the closing process

•Execute complex investment strategies across several acquisition channels

•Identify investment opportunities collaborating with Research, Portfolio Management and Capital Management to create new investment strategies

•Oversee acquisitions operational infrastructure

•Monitoring real estate trends preparing market analysis memos

•Reporting on acquisitions in detailed and holistic presentations for senior management

•Working with internal tech development team to improve proprietary technology and ensure applications maintain best in class standing

•Work closely with Revenue & Expense Management teams to feed performance back into underwriting

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree required

•3-5 years of experience preferably with prior experience in SFR

•Strong written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to interact professionally with external colleagues and internal departments

•Self-motivated -Strong ability to deal with ambiguity, pivot with new information and proactively manage management’s expectations

•Extremely detail-oriented and organized with a proven ability to work well in a high-intensity environment and to complete tasks quickly and effectively

•Capable of handling multiple tasks at once, prioritizing and managing deadlines

•Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint

•Expected travel is 10-20% in future years
