The Opportunity:

As the Business Analyst/Solution Architect, you will be responsible for the acquisition and management of requirements for new projects, while helping to drive the technical implementation of Enterprise Web Content Management Systems such as Sitecore and Optimizely (Episerver). 

You will create detailed Functional and Technical Solution Architecture documents that map out how the project will be implemented while incorporating all of the business and functional requirements into the solution. Beyond creating the documentation, you will be asked to present the solution to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to gain consensus before the project moves into development. During the development process you will work closely with the Technical Lead and Project Manager to ensure that the solution is understood and that it evolves over time as the project changes. Finally, you’ll be involved in ensuring alignment between development, quality assurance, and training – using the solution you crafted as the guide to ensure all parties understand what to develop, QA, and train on.

This position is critical to the success of the company and will report directly to the Chief Delivery Officer. We offer a partial remote work schedule with a mix of working in the office and from home. We would prefer a candidate local to Austin, but we’re open to considering remote as long as you’re able to work during our core hours in the Central Time zone of 9am to 5pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with clients, development, and managerial staff to understand and define stakeholder needs, and ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements
  • Collaborate with the project and technical leads on a project a throughout the life cycle of all projects to ensure successful project execution and ongoing adherence to the solution architected
  • Own the development of business requirements partnering with digital strategists, in addition to collaborating with cross-functional groups such as UX designers on functional requirements, development managers on technical requirements, and the QA team on test plans and acceptance criteria
  • Conduct independent analysis and review requirements, utilizing knowledge of business systems and requirements, with the ability to supply alternative suggestions/improvements
  • Provide guidance on application and integration development best practices, Solution Architecture standards, functional and technical solution architecture design, environment management, testing, and Enterprise CMS best practices
  • Engage regularly with clients and Engagency’s development team to offer architectural and implementation guidance
  • Interact across the business with technical and business teams, architects, C-Level executives, and key decision makers
  • Work with 3rd Party Vendors as required to obtain documentation, APIs, and requirements clarifications
  • Synthesize APIs to create requirements and dataflows that bridge business requirements and technical requirements
  • Work effectively in agile development environment to plan sprints and ensure development matches requirements and business needs
  • Effectively facilitate meetings, brainstorming sessions, and status updates to build consensus with business stakeholders and technical teams

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in an internal Business\Technology or technology consulting environment
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a Technical Business Analyst role, with business case development/benefits realization experience
  • BA/BS degree within or related to engineering, product design, computer science, or relevant experience in those fields
  • Serious BONUS POINTS for familiarity with Web Content Management systems, particularly Sitecore and Optimizely/Episerver
