About the team
This role is part of the Business Systems team within Information Technology (“IT”) that drives secure and scalable adoption of technologies that enable Canva’s scale. As part of IT you will be on the ground floor of a rapidly expanding team as we aim to radically innovate the foundational infrastructure of our technology supporting critical groups throughout the business. As Canva grows, there is an increasing need to provide stakeholders in the business with timely, accurate and granular data enabling agile decisions to be made as required.
The business systems sub-group of the Information Technology (“IT”) group drives secure and scalable adoption of technologies that enable Canva’s scale. This is a new group where you will be on the ground floor of a rapidly expanding team as we aim to radically innovate the foundational infrastructure of our technology supporting these critical groups.
The B2B Sales & Marketing Systems team evaluates, implements and administers the technology stack that support the Sales and Marketing processes; e.g. lead gen, lead nurture, quote to cash, sales & marketing analytics, etc. This team partners with the Sales and Marketing leaders to realize their strategic goals thru scalable and reliable business solutions
About the role
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) for Sales will collaborate with Sales & Marketing stakeholders to define and document requirements / processes that support the org’s strategic goals. The Sales BSA will apply their sales and marketing process experience to analyze requirements from the business, design solutions and translate those requirements and processes to technical specs for the B2B Sales & Marketing Systems development team.
The Sales BSA will develop a proficiency in the B2B systems to assess how the existing tools (i.e. Salesforce, Outreach, Pardot, LeanData, Drift, Ironclad, etc.) can support new requirements or identify the need to acquire / build tools that meet requirements
What you'll do:
- Partner with the Sales and Marketing leadership to establish the optimal systems roadmap that supports the successful execution of their group goals and objectives
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing stakeholders to ensure that business requirements and client needs are appropriately incorporated into the B2B systems; e.g. Salesforce, Pardot, Outreach, LeanData, people.ai, etc.
- Translate business requirements into technology specifications and design systems to meet the needs of the business
- Apply sales and marketing process knowledge to identify, vet and develop business requirements that optimize Sales & Marketing performance
- Work with the B2B Sales & Marketing development team and other technical resources to ensure features/functionality are developed according to business requirements.
- Help ensure that development work maximizes value and is aligned with overall business and product strategy
- Work with Sales and Marketing stakeholders to ensure successful product roll-outs and releases.
- Develop, maintain and prioritize B2B product backlog that aligns with Sales & Marketing strategy
- Lead critical implementation projects of new and existing systems that are prioritized and aligned between Sales and Marketing leadership
- Own steering committee meetings with team leads that effectively drive aligned prioritization of technical improvements
- Create and maintain technical documentation of all systems under your ownership to enable seamless change management as we scale
- Ensure that our data architecture of new and existing systems is in line with the metrics and Data group best practices so we can enable a data driven culture with our teams
- Partner with other cross functional technology leads / teams to create and monitor integrations; making sure integrations run successfully / resolving issues
- Work with third party system vendors, developing relationships and ensuring strong service delivery
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years of business analyst work such as eliciting end user requirements, documenting business processes and requirements analysis
- Experience in sales and marketing processes is required; e.g. lead generation, lead nurture, quote-to-cash, account management, order management
- Experience with Agile development and user story development
- Experience working with Salesforce Sales Cloud is required
- Salesforce certifications are a plus
- Detail oriented and a strong communicator
