We are looking for a Clinical Informaticist to the management of clinical information systems. The role is responsible for performing activities related to designing, building, testing, implementing, training, evaluating, maintaining, upgrading, enhancing and supporting their assigned clinical information systems and accompanying workflows.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Analyzes operational requirements and clinical information system capabilities to propose effective solutions. Identifies opportunities for improvement/automation. Utilizes data to baseline and drives solution outcome.
  • Assesses functionality, feasibility, impact to workflow, and compliance to clinical information systems standards.
  • Analyzes business and user needs, documents business requirements, defines benefits, and estimates costs.
  • Designs changes to Athena EHR application in line with agreed SOPs and Work Instructions. Designs, documents, and articulates technical specifications.
  • Develops configuration, tests, and implementation plans. Obtains operational design approval. Provides input to standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Configures application with agreed changes. Obtains IS/IT change control signoff.
  • Configures Athena EHR application changes according to standards. Documents application changes.
  • Tests configuration and workflow changes. Develops test scripts. Performs unit, system, and integration testing per standards and documents outcome.
  • Creates and provides department and/or customer documentation.
  • Trains users on how to use changed or enhanced application.
  • Implements clinical information system changes. Provides Athena Go-Live support.
  • Optimizes, maintains, and supports Athena EHR application as required. Provides on-call support.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues and initiates escalation procedures.
  • Communicates application issues with vendor per vendor’s reporting process.
  • Plans, tests, and supports application upgrades. Performs regression testing. Remains current on industry trends and vendor/application/system updates.
  • Participates in collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders within multiple venues while facilitating all responsibilities as outlined above
  • Identifies opportunities to improve end-user efficiency and effectiveness. Communicates need for additional assignments as workflow permits.
  • Assists with developing and executing change management strategy (communication, buy-in, training, technical support) to enable a smooth implementation of new application changes and enhancements.
  • Maintains up-to-date awareness and knowledge on the latest process and health information technology advancements to automate and modernize clinical information systems. 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Healthcare related field, OR equivalent experience in healthcare or healthcare Information technology.
  • Experience with U.S. healthcare delivery system. 
  • A current clinical license from the appropriate state(s) within their field of clinical practice, if applicable (Not required)
  • Technical or field certification a plus (CAHIMS, CPHIMS, ANCC, RHIA, RHIT, AHIC, etc.)
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in HIT support, clinical informatics, clinical application support, or EMR support (Athena preferred).
  • Experience evaluating and analyzing EMR features and functionality for problem resolution; developing training materials for users with various skill levels; documenting workflow design and identifying areas for improvement; and working directly with EMR vendors
