ABOUT THE ROLE


The Compliance Analyst will be responsible for managing the company’s policy and procedure development process and acts at part writer, part editor and part publisher. The Compliance Analyst is responsible to collaborate with department leadership or other subject matter experts to write policies and procedures and provides guidance on the policy development process. The Compliance Analyst communicates new, revised, and retired policies and procedures to all staff and manages a repository of all existing company policies and procedures. 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with department leadership or subject matter experts to develop policies and procedures that govern business activities including providing guidance about policy development and approval process
  • Creates, proofreads, edits, and formats policies and procedures in accordance with company standards
  • Manages and maintains a company policy and procedure repository accessible to all staff
  • Maintains inventory of policies and procedures, including recordkeeping of policy-related data and a policy and procedure archive
  • Supports the company’s licensing activities and audit functions as it relates to policy and procedure development or requests for documentation
  • Chairs the Policy Review Committee, manages the agenda, organizes the meetings, and prepares documents for the review and approval of new, revised or retired policies and procedures
  • Develops and implements tools and resources for policy management and supports the company’s policy strategy in collaboration with the Policy Review Committee
  • Act as subject matter expert for the policy on Policy and Procedures
  • Ensures policies and procedures are reviewed annually
  • Recommends development of new or revisions to policies and procedures to reflect changes in laws, rules and regulations that affect business activities
  • Assist more broadly in supporting overall compliance program initiatives as assigned by leadership

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Paralegal preferred
  • Experience managing policy and procedure development required; three (3) of more years of experience preferred
  • Health industry or health insurance experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office required
  • Experience with policy and procedure software applications preferred

  • Ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Analytical skills to synthesize and organize information and concepts
  • Communicates clearly and concisely
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of health plan operations
  • Knowledge of health plan regulatory requirements
