Data Access Engineer
Civitas Learning is seeking an entry level Data Access Engineer to help configure and maintain infrastructure serving millions of users accessing our applications in a multi-tenant/multi-region environment. The role will be working in the Data Engineering Services team comprising customer support and application delivery team in setting up and maintaining an ETL platform and working closely with the Cloud Engineering Team to enable and maintain services for the customer. Cloud Engineering at Civitas includes managing over 1,300 AWS resources across many ETL-centric environments. As a top AWS customer, the Civitas is given top priority in personally working with Amazon Web Services' Product Teams.
This position will work with organizations within and outside the company to help define, scope, implement, test, deploy, and monitor existing and new products and internal tooling. Primary responsibilities include setting up, maintaining and troubleshooting VPN connections and SFTP Flat File uploads, implementing and managing SSO across multiple products, and setting up data extracts/ingests using our internal ETL tool set. Security is our number one priority across the company. The candidate will also optimize and elaborate on existing infrastructure components. There will be ample opportunity to gain experience using AWS technologies.

- OS: Ubuntu, OS X, Amazon Linux
- AWS VPCs and VPN: Ipsec, PPTP, L2TP, SSL, HTTP
- Directory Services/Auth: SAML, AWS Simple AD, LTI
- Public Key Infrastructure: SSH, PGP, TLS
- RDBMS: AWS RDS, Postgres, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle

- Metrics: DataDog, Statsd, ELK (ElasticSearch, Logstash), Splunk
- Continuous Integration: Jenkins
- Virtualization: EC2, Vagrant
- VCS: Github Web/Github Enterprise
- Linux Shell and Python Scripting
- Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
If you're the right candidate, you'll be familiar with working in an infrastructure similar to ours and have an awareness of the Amazon AWS ecosystem, EC2, PaaS offerings (EMR, RDS, Redshift, etc.) & VPC.
