Data Analyst
SamCart is the first eCommerce platform built from the ground up for direct-to-consumer brands. By focusing at the product level and not the store level our customers can create beautiful sites that showcase their products, convert visitors into customers, and increase the value of each purchase.
SamCart is looking for a customer-obsessed Data Analyst to generate key business insights and help solve the diverse and complex challenges facing our business. This is an exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally and help ensure everyone in the organization has the information they need to make better data driven decisions. In this role, you will need to understand what data is being collected across the entire ecosystem, spearhead new data collection tasks, and help the rest of the organization understand the signal from the noise. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented. We are looking for a teammate who can interpret and communicate large amounts of data effectively, regardless of the stakeholder’s technical acumen.
SamCart is a venture-backed and cash flow positive early stage startup. Ability to set strategy but a willingness to dive into details with the team and being highly comfortable navigating ambiguity in a startup environment is a must. This role reports into the Chief Operating Officer and is located in Austin, TX.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain dashboards for Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to proactively identify areas of opportunity.
- Identify, map, and connect high-value data sources across the multiple tools and third-party platforms we use to run our business.
- Maintain datasets and work with the respective stakeholders to fill in gaps.
- Brainstorm how unstructured and disperse datasets can provide useful
- information to improve the customer experience.
- Assist in identifying and setting up BI tools.
- Conduct exploratory analyses to identify business opportunities or review the effectiveness of new business initiatives
We are looking for someone who has:
- 3+ years experience in product analytics and SaaS business analytics
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Highly skilled at writing SQL to query relational databases, knowledge in R or Python is a plus
- Ability to work with large datasets and to be able to structure/manipulate unstructured datasets from a variety of sources.
- Strong command of basic statistics, mathematical models and e-commerce analysis.
- Experience using BI tools. Assist engineering in building out BI tools is a plus.
- Self-starter with a keen focus on performance
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Detail-oriented, organized and accurate
- Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Math, Sciences, Engineering)
