Job Description Summary
As a Statistician at the intersection of statistics and machine learning, you will serve as our expert and knowledge-center for statistical methods and study design. Our team focuses on rigorousness and delivering business results to stakeholders.Your role will focus on methods and analyses to build predictive and explanatory models of business outcomes, overcoming statistical challenges around sampling, noisy data and missingness. You will serve pivotal role in project design and execution, from planning to validation and finally monitoring models in production.Competitive candidates are responsive, independent, and collaborative. They must be self-directed and comfortable solving statistical and analytical challenges while communicating both the needs and the solutions with data scientists and business stakeholders.
Job Duties

  • Developing and testing for predicting and explaining business outcomes such as subrogation, salvage, and fraud detection as well as information extraction.
  • Develop and implement methods for tackling statistical challenges such skewed, noisy or missing data.
  • Lead and guide domain experts about manual labeling to train and validate models, while minimizing labeled data requirements.
  • Communicate results and findings to business stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • We expect the candidate to have:
  • A Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience (either industry or academia) in applying statistical methods.
  • Proficiency with R and Python is a must


Preferred:

  • Excellent training in statistical theory or methodology.
  • Academic publications about statistical methods and their application.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience in product management and user/client-facing activities.
