The Platform Quality Engineering organization is looking to drive the collection of actionable, quality metrics and share insightful data with the engineering team that will help improve product quality. What you’ll do
As a Data Warehouse Developer, you will be part of the “Autobots Data Team”. We call ourselves the Autobots because we love to transform challenges into automatable solutions. The solutions we engineer are as diverse as we are and we never shy away from a challenge.
You will be responsible for building an ETL pipeline for our Engineering data warehouse. You will be tasked with building and maintaining the operation of our data warehouse infrastructure components with a focus on the collection, processing and storage of data. The data warehouse tracks data coming out of our source code repository, our full suite of automated test results and product release metrics. You will be responsible for the warehouse, ensuring data integrity and congruence of data while building dashboards to view the data. As we expand our data sources, you will be responsible for consolidating the data and making it mineable for analysis.
What you will do day to day
Partner with all teams in R&D, particularly with Built and Tools Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, IT Data Developers and the Data Science and Engineering teams to understand and solve their data needs
Help define our metrics and Improve the way we collect and maintain our engineering metrics and data optimizing the collection and reporting processes along the way
Build, maintain and optimize the data warehouse infrastructure and ETL/ELT pipelines
Migrate our engineering data warehouse from a current homegrown tool to use Snowflake, ensuring data integrity is maintained in the migration
Participate in design sessions and code reviews with peers
Lead and mentor other engineers in the team
Initiate and facilitate meaningful discussions around complex issues
Identify and propose strategies around technical problems affecting the team, communicate standards and get buy-in on solutions
Publish reports on customer and internal usage patterns to drive appropriate behaviors across the organization
Skills and core competencies you have…
Experience in a Data Warehouse environment with involvement in design and architecture
Experience with data handling and transformation techniques such as ETL/ELT
Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
Proven mentorship and coaching skills of junior team members
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to independently and consistently manage project timelines and work you're doing
Motivation and passion to stay on top of new and emerging test and automation technologies
It would be even better if you have…
Familiarity with Python is a plus but not required
Familiarity with analytics tools such as Looker and Tableau is a plus but not required
Familiarity with Snowflake is a major plus but not required
Familiarity with Engineering Metrics, Software Quality and Testing
