The rundown:

As a Data Warehouse Engineer you will be part of our IT team. You will assist in the development of data warehouse information architecture and be the go to for any data requests from business stakeholders. You will maintain and optimize SQL performance, and provide operational support to our high availability Microsoft SQL Server Warehouse infrastructure while also working to modernize pathways to Google Cloud BigQuery. The ideal candidate will be a proficient warehouse developer versed in data integration services development, report development, data analysis, and database administration.

You will report to Patrick Ortiz, Sr. IT Director of Data Systems.

You will:

• Assist in building and maintaining data warehouse data integrations leveraging both MS SQL Integration services and Python technologies
• Create fully functioning pathways between existing warehouse and Google BigQuery- rewrite ETL’s from the source back to BigQuery.
• Be the go to for data requests from business stakeholders
• Develop and Optimize SQL Queries leveraged by existing integration services, reporting processes and data analysis reports
• As part of an Agile development team contribute to architecture, tools and development process improvements
• Plan for non-transactional data storage for reporting and analytics
• Maintain current reports in existing reporting platforms
• Profile source system data as needed to provide feedback for business requirements
• Analyze and verify Data Warehouse data

We are looking for someone with:

• A team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Science or other degree with relevant experience
• Knowledge of Warehouse dimensional database modeling
• Proficient with the SQL Language
• Familiarity with any data reporting tools
• Strong experience with performance optimization and tuning of database queries as well as underlying infrastructure
• 2+ years of Data Analysis and familiar with Machine Learning Algorithms
• 2+ Years Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services development or similar Extract Transform Load development
• 2+ years of experience Microsoft SQL Server database administration or comparable RDBMS
• 2+ years of experience with Python 2.7 or 3.x
• Python Scripting and .NET knowledge preferred
• Familiarity with Cloud Services- AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform preferred
• Highly organized, self-starter with an eye for detail who can maintain multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
