For positions based in Austin, TX, we are an in-office culture and believe face-to-face collaboration serves our mission best. Our Austin, TX based employees are expected to work in our office. For positions outside of the Austin, TX area, remote work is acceptable if we do not have an office in your area.
About the Role:
The Director of Data Support leads and supports our Data Operations team, which is 40+ people strong, has long been one of the largest teams, and is foundational to all the impact we create as a company. This team is responsible for adding and maintaining the programs that make up the findhelp directory of social care programs on our platform which is used by 7m+ people. This role will also contribute to our goal to grow Data team members to build their skills to provide internal development and career growth opportunities within the Data team and other teams throughout the organization.
Top Objectives:
Develop and lead Data Operations strategy. You are cultivating and sharing the strategy, vision, goals and ways to achieve those goals for the Data Operations department with your team and leadership. You’re determining what success looks like on projects and communicating that back to your teams and upward to Aunt Bertha leadership. You will use internal operations data (such as customer reports, user path analysis, etc.) to make data-driven decisions. You will strive to make the data team’s work more efficient, accurate, and valuable to people in need and those that help them.
Define projects, success metrics, and ensure projects get completeMonitor and support team progress. You are in charge of defining and monitoring essential team know where the team stands on their projects and you based on status reports and ensure that deadlines are met. You communicate and collaborate with leadership in other departments to eliminate roadblocks and facilitate cross functional opportunities. You ensure that the CEO, COO, and other members of Aunt Bertha’s Senior Leadership Team are aware of the Data Operations department’s needs, barriers, and successes.
Lead and mentor direct reports to build and maintain a cohesive team. Growing people personally and professionally is a top priority. For the 40+ people on your team, that falls to you! You’re checking in regularly with team members through 1:1 and skip-level meetings to cultivate their development, giving regular performance feedback, receiving feedback from team members and removing barriers to allow them to do their best work.

We Want Someone Who (Qualifications) We are looking for someone with 5+ years experience as a people leader in an Operations role, preferably with scaling company experience. You are someone who:

- Become an expert on our internal systems and provide training and mentoring to the team.
- Provide advice on best practices and standard processes, keeping end user experience and internal stakeholder needs in mind.
- Help grow emerging leaders. Coach supervisors on leadership and management and help build career development opportunities for your team and others in the department.
- Help define and prioritize team projects.
- Strategic Planning. Help define team and department goals. Jump in and execute personally or if the work is better delegated, own monitoring and communicating progress toward goals.
- Utilize quality metrics to measure effectiveness of the team and internal processes.
- Improve the product. Work with our Product team to prioritize enhancements.
- Collaborate. Work with functional data team leaders to brainstorm, implement, and support ideas that make the teams more efficient and the product more effective.
