RetailMeNot is looking for curious, driven, customer-focused experts to help build the next generation of products which make RetailMeNot the number one savings destination for our customers and be an indispensable business partner for our retail customers. This role will be on the front lines of fraud threats facing RetailMeNot.

The principal responsibility of this role is to evaluate accounts, payments, and chargebacks to protect RetailMeNot customers and RetailMeNot assets. You are a self-starter and demonstrate ability to work independently to conduct investigations and reach data driven decisions following established processes and procedures. The position relies on excellent judgment to plan and accomplish daily tasks, targets and metrics. 

Who You Are

  • Minimum 1 year experience in fraud or risk related investigation role
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in delivering on key performance indicators
  • Real passion for technology
  • Experience in underwriting, fraud mitigation for online or mobile payment transaction processing, loss mitigation and recovery, or payments compliance all pluses
  • A plus if you have some SQL or other coding skills

What You'll Do

  • Investigate suspicious activities and behaviors and take action on offending accounts
  • Identify known fraud patterns, discover new modus operandi trends and take actions to minimize risks
  • Use various internet and in-house tools to research transactions and gather data to make accurate decisions
  • Take appropriate actions to identify and reduce financial, legal and reputational risk
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality and data security standards
  • Achieve weekly productivity and quality standards for investigations
  • Build relationships across cross functional organizational structure to meet individual and RetailMeNot goals
  • Exercise independent judgment to overcome obstacles and issues
  • Seek to identify root causes and recommend solutions to avoid repeat of problems
