Lead Business Analyst, Consumer Intelligence

SpareFoot is looking for a Lead Business Analyst who will play a key role in providing data-driven insights to our Consumer-focused teams such as Marketing, Product, and Support. In addition to delving into the data, as the Lead Business Analyst, you will create custom dashboards and reports to measure the performance of the business, be the “go-to” expert on web operations and performance, and provide business requirements when complex data or product changes are needed. Overall as the Lead Business Analyst, you will have a deep understanding of SpareFoot’s consumer marketplace performance.

What you will do everyday:

  • Lead collaboration and coordination with Marketing, Product, and Data teams to identify, prioritize, and execute analytical work that enables a deep understanding of consumer behavior and B2C product performance.
  • Proactively deliver top-of-class reporting/dashboarding advancing our understanding of Consumer team performance and insights.
  • Collaborate with business teams on ad-hoc analyses that uncover root cause of recent business trends.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on A/B testing strategies and measurement
  • Manage backlog and priority of Consumer analytics requests and projects.
  • Keen business acumen leading to a powerful connection between metrics and business outcomes
  • Design and execute analyses to determine the impact of various business decisions and/or marketing campaigns.
  • Outwardly communicate findings. Create and deliver insightful presentations that summarize complex analyses and inform business decisions.  Speak comfortably about results.
  • Provide reporting and analysis of program level performance to measure ROI and make recommendations to adjust spend based on performance analysis.
  • Translate business needs into detailed Business Requirements for action by cross-functional teams (Data Analysts, Data Platform, or other).
  • Provide a thorough understanding of digital marketing concepts, terminology and practical application of current and emerging technologies.
  • Expertise in the use and application of channel-relevant digital marketing platforms or technologies.


What you need to bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Experience with Tableau, Good Data, or other similar business intelligence and visualization tools.
  • Strong SQL experience
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, graphics) and Powerpoint skills
  • Strong web analytics platform experience (preferably Google Analytics)
  • Some scripting experience (Python, SQL, Ruby, etc.)
  • Experience with data mining tools (Mozenda, rapidminer, etc.) and statistical modeling tools (R, Stata, etc.)
  • Curious and passionate about understanding consumer behavior.
  • Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Creative, imaginative and comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Solid project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and under tight timeframes.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and coaching skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate data visually, effectively communicating results in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical disciplines.
