 What Your Days Will Be Like:  

The Manager, Data Warehouse will be part of our centralized data warehouse and analytics team at Care.com, which serves multiple departments and business units for their analytical needs. You will be part of the team that is migrating and consolidating our current data warehouses into Snowflake and building new tools and frameworks to exploit the advantages in the latest developments in cloud data warehousing. You will be at the forefront of driving a major transformation in the company as we pivot from traditional data warehouses to Snowflake. The Manager, Data Warehouse will lead the technical design and development activities for our large-scale data solution in Snowflake. The ideal candidate will have professional experience as a technical manager of a Snowflake data warehouse at a top tier company. S/he will exhibit strong knowledge of the Snowflake ecosystem, be able to clearly articulate the value proposition of cloud data warehouses, and be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. 

What You'll Be Working On:  

  • Lead the technical design and development activities for implementation of large-scale data solutions in Snowflake to support multiple use cases (data lake, transformations, data science, reporting, and analytics). 
  • Leverage best practices on Amazon infrastructure to lead the technical design and development of data ingestion pipelines to load data from multiple sources into Snowflake. 
  • Design, develop and implement all database objects in Snowflake 
  • Create a framework to manage and monitor our Snowflake instance 
  • Manage a small team of data engineers  
  • Maintain deep and up-to-date knowledge of the data warehouse 
  • Incorporate best practices for security, performance, and data privacy into technical design 

What You'll Need to Succeed:  

  • Prior work experience as a Snowflake technical manager designing and deploying solutions in Snowflake 
  • Prior work experience administering and monitoring a Snowflake computing platform 
  • Hands on approach 
  • Strong knowledge and experience in data warehousing, including cloud-based data warehouse solutions 
  • Experience using AWS and Amazon services such as S3, IAM and Lambda 
  • In depth experience with scripting tools including shell scripting and Python as well as experience handling large and complex sets of structured and unstructured data sources 
  • Analytical and conceptual abilities and a problem-solving attitude 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members at different levels of the organization 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain performance level in a fast-paced agile environment with changing priorities and deadlines 
  • Familiarity with Apache Airflow a plus 
  • Experience with CI/CD methodologies a plus 

Education/Other Pre-requisites:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant fields; or equivalent work experience  
  • 8+ years in building data warehouses/data lakes 
  • 2+ years of Snowflake experience 
  • 2+ years people management experience
