About the team & opportunity
Ontra is seeking a Manager, Machine Learning reporting to our Director of Machine Learning.
This role will be responsible for all of the Machine Learning efforts on our Contract Automation team. Our Contract Automation product is our flagship product and the Manager, Machine Learning will have a direct hand in developing industry-changing features for our customers.

What you'll do

• Lead: Oversee a team of Machine Learning Engineers, ensuring projects are completed on time and developing your team's career growth
• Plan: Developing ML roadmaps and work with stakeholders to gather requirements, define priorities, and strategizing a solution
• Evangelize: Assist in guiding and implementing ML and engineering best practices
• Collaborate: Work closely with teams like ML Platform, Application Engineering, and Product to ensure alignment on strategy and prioritizing

What you'll bring

• Technical Expertise: 7+ years as an individual contributor and 2+ years in leadership, ideally in a high-growth, scaling organization
• Machine Learning Tooling: Experience with tools and technologies like Python, AWS, PyTorch, DVC, and Hugging Face (preferable)
• Team Player: Ability to lead a team while working alongside them
• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

In addition to cash salary, the total compensation package Ontra offers includes unit-based compensation (if applicable). Certain roles in our sales and account management departments may also be eligible to receive variable compensation or commission.
