We are looking for a highly motivated Principal Analyst, Business Integrations Analytics (to join our newly formed Business, Customer and Promotions Analytics Team). In this role, you will be responsible generating hypothesis that contribute to partners across the company, managing the partnership with key cross-functional partners (including technology partners and internal data science teams) and ensuring the scalability of our data and insights via our internal tools.
This role will work with other analytics teams to lead strategic and analytics support for assigned and ad hoc requests. This position will be required to provide an integrated point of view of business, customer, and promotions performance, leveraging internal and external sources. In addition, this role will support the development of business and promotions analytics and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and solve for any gaps in analytical processes and reporting.
Responsibilities: Provide strategic guidance by delivering data-driven, actionable insights that contribute to leadership and key partner teams. Act as a conduit to integrate strategic insights, generate hypothesis; act as single-point-of-contact for technology team partners and data science teams. Understand and activate business impact levers (promotions, price, product, customer, etc…); along with leveraging 3rd party competitive landscape tools, customer behavior metrics, and data science models. Serve as an analytical point of contact for special projects, ad hoc analysis, and other initiatives.
Lead collaboration with business partners, including 3rd parties, to identify gaps in analytical processes and reporting; then problem solve with various other teams to fill gaps influence decision making throughout the business, which often requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. Effectively synthesize and communicate complex data and analyses via effective written documents and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Successfully lead direct report, while also supporting training and mentoring members across the wider team. Ability to organize initiatives for knowledge sharing across team and community.
  • Effectively translate complex data and analyses to all levels within the organization in order to generate promotions insights that drive action.
  • Ability to influentially present information and respond to questions in one-on-one interaction, meeting/group presentation situations involving senior leadership.
  • Intellectual and analytical curiosity – initiative to dig into the “why” of various results.
  • Proven ability to utilize advanced analytical methods to identify patterns, relationships, and trends across multiple data sources.
  • Synthesizes complex data from various sources to construct a narrative which can be understood by a broad audience. Passion for developing simple visualizations that lead to clear insights for various levels of stakeholder groups.
  • Experience querying data from large enterprise databases and developing new code to answer complex business questions. SQL proficiency is required.
  • Experience leveraging data science models to derive insights required.
  • Self-directed, innovative thinker with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with working with market syndicated data (e.g. Nielsen), shopper insights solutions, visual analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau) and Microsoft Excel Familiarity with data basics, structure, and relationships.
  • Knowledge of retail business to include all aspects of pricing, merchandising, retail operations, financial operations, profitability drivers, and reporting is a strong plus.
  • Project Management experience and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills: listening, verbal, and written.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strong work ethic complemented with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, maturity to handle ambiguity, flexibility to perform in a dynamic collaborative environment, and ability to multitask across projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.
  • Education & Experience: BA/BS degree and 6-10 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Analytical Business Specialty, Marketing Research or commensurate retail experience preferred MS or MBA plus.
