The Opportunity

In Adobe Commerce/Magento Engineering Operations, we are building next-generation operational analytics and decision support capabilities to enable world-class product development and lean work management. Being data-driven is core to our mission. We are looking for a seasoned data engineer/architect, who understands the power of answering questions with data and who loves to automate things to enable game-changing management insights and fast decision-making.

What you’ll do

  • Acquire domain knowledge through collaboration with management stakeholders and engineering teams

  • Help answer questions and create insights with data

  • Investigate operational data sources to determine transformation and uses of data

  • Develop multi-dimensional data models

  • Develop ETL jobs to populate subject-oriented data marts

  • Develop summary statistics jobs

  • Develop forecasting and inference methods

  • Develop algorithms to identify operational anomalies

  • Build & demonstrate visualization prototypes

  • Build dashboards in PowerBI and/or other visualization tooling

  • Clearly document & present on-going work & insights

What you need to succeed

  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in Computer Science or related technical field of study or comparable work experience

  • 10+ years of experience implementing RDBMS solutions (e.g., Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL)

  • 8+ years of experience designing, implementing and maintaining Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions

  • 8+ years of experience designing, implementing and maintaining ETL/data pipelines using associate tooling (e.g., Ab Initio, SSIS etc., Talend preferred)

  • Experience building and validating statistical analysis algorithms to inform decision-making (e.g., Python, Matlab, R)

  • Collaborative engagement across Product, Engineering teams and BI report business users

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication and presentation of problems, countermeasures and hypotheses to create alignment
