Senior Corporate Strategy Director

We are looking for someone who will be a key advisor and partner in helping us design and develop the company’s corporate strategy. This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new and developing strategy and ops team with access to C-level and other senior executives at the company.
We are looking for someone who brings a management consulting foundation with recent experience in leading corporate strategy or is currently at a top firm in management consulting and is looking to transform and shift their career to corporate strategy. A passion for or strong interest in learning about the real estate and adjacent industries will help to differentiate the person we hire.
The role reports to the VP of Strategy and Ops and is located in our Austin, Texas office (this role will work remotely until at least January 2021). This role will start off as an individual contributor with the intention of becoming a people leader over time.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and drive corporate strategy, help set the strategic direction, define and refine the key questions, prioritize initiatives and resources against key performance metrics, and work cross-functionally to operationalize initiatives
- Distill complex ideas from data, research, and trends into compelling stories for who, what, why, and how
- Identify, model, and prioritize initiatives based on data, customer feedback, and other inputs
- Survey experts, current and potential customers, and consumers for insights into strategic direction
- Own the analysis and curation of the competitive landscapes of the company’s key sectors and adjacencies to help drive the strategic focus of the company and decision-making; includes comparison of competitive products and features and sizing of relevant TAMs
- Develop and test performance improvement hypotheses; rapidly iterate based on feedback
- Collaborate with teams from operations, product, sales, support, and marketing to drive initiatives from inception to completion
What We Like to See / Measures of Success:
- 7+ years of total relevant work experience with 3+ years of management consulting experience and at least 1 year of leading a consulting or strategy team at a high-performing company or firm
- Hunger to grow career and help establish new corporate strategy function
- Naturally intellectually curious with a passion for learning and distilling insights and telling cohesive stories
- Success navigating between systems and people
- Tenaciously driven to grow, win and persevere beyond challenges to solve complex problems
- Self-starter with an incredible work ethic and team first mentality
- Strong organizational skills and ability to own a project start to finish
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment
- Strong understanding of measuring performance through metrics and KPIs with the ability to tell a rich story through data
- MBA strongly preferred
- Expertise in Google PowerPoint
