Senior Vice President & GM Data & AI

 

Senior Vice President Data and AI will be responsible for setting the vision to develop best in class AI & Data Platform and Analytics Strategy for all Expedia Group. SVP will enable an event driven data platform that productizes our data end to end around EG common data domains. Build & lead an engaged and inspired organization of top talent which drives innovation

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Support a unified 360 view of our customers, partners and supply by enabling data platform user and device graph strategy unlocking a 360 view
  • Build and maintain a democratized AI infrastructure that can rapidly be leveraged by other while driving programmatic best practices through every aspect of EG
  • Unlock a unified experimentation platform while enabling best practices and training to support rapid A/B testing for feature deployment
  • COE for Data Science/Econometrics for the P&M organization driving best practices and embed resources for rapid acceleration in key areas
  • Maintain and execute a strategy for data governance and security for all EG data assets across both AI and Data platforms
  • Maintain a common service layer between Backoffice systems enabling Realtime data synchronization with a unified view of our partners and travelers
  • Change leadership to guide the organization through the upcoming transformation
  • Work to drive programmatic throughout EG by democratizing AI throughout every LOB, Retail and TPS
  • Work with feature teams to align and improve on a common experimentation platform while providing a COE for experimentation and training best practices
  • Work to provide EG with the Analytical tools and data products that enable them to execute effectively while striving for full data democratization
  • Work with all LoBs in testing and deploying common analytics dashboard and self-service capabilities for overall EG insights
  • Set up an AI/Data ecosystem that enables a constant learning environment for the AI models by setting the feedback patterns and strategy to ensure we can execute on next wave AI disruption.
  • Shared Ownership with CISO of security processes, risk identification & resolution for data protection
  • Shared ownership of our Edge layer as it relates to user/trip context as a core component of the Data Platform graph strategy to ensure unified personalization and experimentation across all LOB’s

 

Who you are:

 

  • Thoughtful leadership with ability to inspire and articulate a compelling vision
  • Experience at a senior level of managing large global teams and individuals with highly quantitative and technical roles
  • Strategic thinker able to build a long-term plan, and combine with pragmatic, tactical execution. The ability to cut through complexity and turn high-level business requirements and opportunities into specific projects
  • Demonstrates excellent business judgment and ability to move and evolve with the fast-changing needs of the company
  • A deep passion for data and analytics and experience working with very large volumes of data
  • Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of common data-related technologies, and data engineering concepts and best-practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced influencing and communication skills: written and oral.
  • Good storytelling skills and the ability to present complex information simply in both small and large group settings
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a global matrixed organization. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholder groups. Effective at working with teams across multiple countries and time zones
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Goal-oriented with self-direction and drive. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously to tight deadlines
    Strong program leadership skills and the ability to coordinate, organize and prioritize workstreams to drive business results
  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and work well in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Ecommerce or other online experience is highly desirable. Travel industry experience is a plus
