Do you have a passion for contributing to healthcare research and analytics? This is a great opportunity to join our Ascension Data Science Institute (ADSI) and work directly with physicians and large amounts of clinical data to make an impact in patient care and outcomes.
This role supports Ascension's national research projects and university research partnerships through development and statistical analysis of clinical health data files. We aspire for this function to serve as a liaison between research and data management teams to acquire, harmonize, and analyze data to address research questions for grant applications and publication in the medical literature using clinical, administrative, and claims data.
What You Will Do

• Provide the biostatistical/data science expertise and leadership in study design, data management, data analysis and manuscript preparation to assist all levels of clinical investigators on research activities.
  
  • Work with investigators on the design and analytical aspects of the research process, including:
  • design of new studies
  • structuring data collection systems
  • Statistical analyses
  • Preparation of abstracts, oral and poster presentations, and scientific manuscripts
  • Provide scientifically rigorous biostatistical support to research teams
  • Accurately interpret data and effectively communicate results to stakeholders

What You Will Need
Education:

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

Work Experience:

• 3 years of experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

• Thorough knowledge of quantitative research methods and statistical principles relevant in medical research
• Ability to translate complex research methods and findings for a clinical or non-technical audience
• Writing analytical (research) reports or materials
• Understanding of medical terminology
• Skills in advanced statistics, programming, and data storytelling
• Positive attitude and the ability to work with a variety of investigators and team members
• Desire to learn new methods and technologies and adapt to the demands of a national research enterprise
• SQL, Python, Tableau, R preferred
• BigQuery Data knowledge preferred
