The Senior Data Analyst is a member of the Ascension Data Science Institute's Value Based Care Performance Analytics team, supporting the collection, organization, and measurement of key performance measures. The position will also support improvement activities with payers, providers, internal consultants and technical teams to support all performance improvement efforts in value based care contractual arrangements between Ascension and the payers.
What You Will Do
Senior Data Analyst:

• Serve as key resource/SME in collection and analysis of data from multiple sources for the development of reports and statistical information.
• 5 years of SQL experience
• Report/data visualization experience
• Effectively summarize quantitative and qualitative analyses.
• Apply proven critical thinking skills in order to anticipate questions from key stakeholders and consider all aspects of an analysis before completion.
• May provide leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff on how to access reports and interpret the data.
• Compile analytical and statistical reports as needed.
• Conducts data analysis to assist internal and external consultants, Health Ministries and System Office staff in defining key performance indicators, measurement and management improvement
• Formulate, define and recommend scope and format of reports.
• Reviews information for accuracy and reconciles data on a regular basis.
• Proficiency with data extraction, manipulation, and interpretation using multiple data sources (EMR, claims, payer data)
• Oversee provision of ad hoc management reports.
• May provide leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff on how to access reports and interpret the data.
• Identify data trends and make recommendations for quality improvement.

What You Will Need
Education:

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

Work Experience:

• 3 years of experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

• Data wrangling experience
• Customer facing data analysis experience
• Understanding value based care cost and utilization metrics and their specifications would be great
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for data analytics (pivot tables, advanced formulas, Vlookups, etc.)
• Strong analytical, organizational, planning and problem solving skills
