Manager, Risk Analytics

We are seeking a Senior Manager for our growing Risk Management department. This role will lead our Global Fraud and Risk Analysts and be accountable for all key performance indicators within the Risk Management team’s purview. Reporting directly to the Director of Global Risk Management, you will lead a team of 4-6 analysts who are engaged in the development and deployment of anti-fraud, anti-phishing and other risk-based business rules. In this role, you will learn and develop an expertise of fraud and marketplace abuse trends across all attack vectors and deploy strategic, effective responses while maximizing the use of state of the art models and technology.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Implement workflows and project tracking for the demand work processed by the team
  • Manage and monitor requests, resource allocation, assignment and time to resolution
  • Build out a holistic view of the implications of Risk Management strategies to Operations, Customer Service and Partner Success
  • Complete monthly department reports and lead business review meetings
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports, providing ongoing, constructive feedback
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incident response and remediation
  • Take careful documentation of active incidents and lead retrospectives
  • Guide and assist with SQL queries and R scripts
  • Partner with colleagues in varying roles to assess the workloads and impacts for departments involved
  • Identify dependencies and issues across teams and working with stakeholders to move critical blockers where needed
  • Establish and continuously handle/audit accuracy of published reports

Requirements:

  • Possess analytical skills to craft and cross-check estimates using analysis
  • Serve as a leader to guide team through analyses to build new policies/rules to handle risk
  • Effective time management skills to handle varying to-dos for the team, as well as prioritize in order to stay on top of multiple work streams and monitor progress; experience with program or project management is a plus
  • Experience working with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams while leading by influence
  • Ability to participate in strategic discussions and represent the Risk Management department in meetings
  • Operate with a positive, “can do” attitude, great teammate, upbeat personality and the ability to work well under press in a dynamic environment
  • Desire to continue to learn and grow professionally in a performance based environment
  • Experience and aptitude to lead, guide and contribute to the development of strong, quantitative analysts
  • Real passion for logical problem solving and critical thinking, intrigued by intellectual challenges and a strong business sense

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading strong, quantitative analysts and data scientists
  • 8+ years of experience with people and team management
  • Highly proficient with statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (R, SQL, SPSS, SAS, etc)
  • Well versed with crafting and publishing reports in Tableau or similar BI tools
  • Exposure to eCommerce industry or marketplace, social media risk and experience
  • Experience in the quantitative domain
  • Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience with rules-based risk engine platforms is a plus
