Amherst Holdings has an incredible opportunity for a Strategy Associate interested in taking his/her career to the next level. In this role, you will be based in the Austin, TX headquarters and work directly with the Firm’s CEO as well as the senior leadership in tackling some of the biggest questions facing both the Firm and the real estate industry. Your focus will include providing support to the CEO for business plan development, financial modeling, external and internal presentations for key stakeholders, and project management of strategic initiatives led by the CEO office. In addition, you will participate in strategic discussions and senior management meetings to gain insights and drive any necessary follow-up. This position requires someone who is highly driven, quick to learn and self-motivated, works well independently and in a team setting, and has a passion for the real estate / structured finance markets.

Responsibilities:
• Work directly with the Firm’s CEO and collaborate with business executives to tackle key strategic and growth initiatives through a data driven, analytical and systematic approach.
• Provide financial analysis, presentation, and project management support to the CEO on topics that span across all Amherst business units including existing assets / businesses as well as new business ventures
• Work with members across all levels of the firm in the analysis, documentation and execution of various capital transactions, including acquisitions, partnerships, financings and exit opportunities
• Participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings, due diligence visits, and other interactions; summarize and drive necessary follow through actions
• Prepare internal and external presentations, memos and pitch books including discussion materials for the Board and the Advisory Council
• Analyze market research to evaluate prospective new investment opportunities or strategies
• Interface with internal and external parties, such as senior management, operating partners, lenders, accounting teams, legal counsel and other market contacts as needed
• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

 

Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field, including Finance, Math, Business, etc. MBA preferred
• 3-5 years of work experience in Finance, Real Estate or related fields; candidates who have completed business or credit analyst training at a large investment bank or private equity firm are highly desired
• Strong quantitative analysis and financial modeling skills are a must
• Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication, presentation skills
• Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively in a fast paced environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills; follow through with sense of urgency
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
