Strategy & Planning Analyst

Through categorical expertise, we are responsible for implementing technical solutions to match the unique needs of our customers: these range from traditional sourcing needs to workforce management to on-demand services.
RigUp is hiring a Strategy and Planning Analyst in our Austin office. Finding jobs for the men and women who power oil & gas is what motivates us. Your role on the S&P team is to make our business run as efficiently as possible. You approach RigUp’s workforce marketplace with a holistic view of supply and demand, identifying inefficiencies across internal and external processes, structuring, aggregating, and utilizing data (in Excel and SQL) to drive large business decisions, forecast, track and execute against key financial and operational goals, all with the sole purpose of enabling marketplace growth.
What you'll be doing
- Ensure fulfillment against industry demand for labor
- Size and structure processes by which RigUp enters new categories of labor marketplaces
- Identify and action against inefficiencies across teams and within the marketplace
- Enable the capture, structure, and ingestion of data across operational touch points to inform decision making and product optimization
- Own E2E business tracking, reporting, and consolidation of operational activities for communication to upper management and board executives
- Partner with product to unlock key strategic value propositions for RigUp
- Manage marketplace hypothesis testing with data science, product, engineering
- Optimize and plan for marketplace pricing structures across multiple service lines and buyer/labor facing product features
What you should have
- A minimum of 3 years' of investment banking / consulting / business intelligence / strategy or related experience; some high-growth operations or startup experience is very much preferred
- Exceptional Excel / Google suite / data management skills.
- Excellent analytical and technical ability, solid SQL proficiency
- Balance attention to detail with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well
- Self-starter - the ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data we require to drive business impacts
- Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and address something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away
- Clear communicator. You are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate actionable insights
- MBA a plus but not required
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas a plus, but not required or preferred
