Position Overview:
The Temporary Retail Analyst's primary duties are to help identify and monitor Retail operations targets and KPIs across the Retail channel of our organization. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing both analysis and data-based recommendations to the Retail Operations teams in support of making strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Provide accurate financial analysis and business performance insights to the Retail Operations and store teams as well as cross-functional teams throughout the company.
Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Analytics teams to obtain and access data necessary to create retail reporting.
Collaborate with Retail Operations team to help find ways to create cost-effective business processes
Support the Director of Retail Operations and Retail District Managers by aiding with understanding of reporting and business results
Participate in forecasting/budgeting exercises for the Retail sales channel
Keep a pulse on industry trends and provide updates to Retail leadership team
Track sales progress against daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual targets and provide Retail leaders with performance reports
Define and monitor channel-specific key performance indicators (KPI’s) and benchmarks using and evolving the existing Retail Performance Scorecard tool
Design labor staffing analysis to help teams best manage labor scheduling across varying sales traffic volume locations and during varying seasonal times of the year
Provide reporting and assessments on Labor Management, Overtime, Turnover, Event Tracking, and other operation metrics
Review performance and impact of new stores and manage new store pro forma model
Collaborate with Accounting team on reconciliation of sales, cost of goods and staffing reporting during month-end close process
Act as a liaison between Retail Operations and Finance team
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in finance, statistics, economics, or accounting
3+ years’ experience in a financial role for a high-growth company, retail or consumer good experience is a plus
A proven ability to execute with consistent delivery and reprioritize based on evolving business needs
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including the ability to build and to navigate efficiently across robust models and data sets
Able to create, execute, and interpret results of basic financial concepts such as break-even analysis, ROI calculations, and scenario analysis
Experience with statistical modeling techniques including regression analysis, variable selection, and scenario analysis
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (MS PowerPoint proficient)
Experience with any major planning and budgeting systems, business intelligence systems or ERP platforms would be a plus
A strong ability to build cross functional partnerships and work collaboratively
